Cheyenne, WY – The Wyoming Republican Party just voted to no longer recognize Congresswoman Liz Cheney as a Republican.
The 31-29 vote came after years of tension between the more conservative wing of the party and Cheney. Over the 5 years she has been in office, Cheney has been hyper-critical of conservatives in the party.
The tension with Cheney hit its boiling point when Cheney voted to impeach the then-President Donald Trump earlier this year.
Cheney’s spokesman Jeremey Adler responded by saying,
It’s laughable to suggest Liz is anything but a committed conservative Republican. She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly, a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle, and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man.
Conservatives have more to complain about with Cheney than her impeachment vote, though.
Cheney boasts a measly 59% on her Conservative Review scorecard, a 56% lifetime score from Freedomworks, and a 61% lifetime score from Club for Growth.
Although the vote to remove Cheney was largely symbolic, it is still a testament to Cheney’s shaky ground with Wyoming Republicans.
Cheney is facing multiple primary challengers for her 2022 reelection bid. Among those is Harriet Hageman, who formerly held a senior position in the Wyoming GOP. Hageman won the coveted Donald Trump endorsement to replace Cheney and is the perceived frontrunner in the primary.
While no polling results have been released since Hageman announced her bid, Cheney’s poll numbers have been at or under 20% since her impeachment vote.
Hageman is fairly well known in Wyoming, as she ran for Governor in 2018 and came in 3rd place in the Republican primary.
Those rallying behind Cheney include George W. Bush, Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, Susan Collins, and John Boehner.

It is easy to determine that Cheney is a RINO by who her endorsements are coming from, Bushs, Boehner, Ryan, and Collins. They are all RHINOS.
