Stealing bases isn’t the only thing Congress is stealing!

Washington, D.C. – Annually Congress takes an evening to head out to the ballpark and raise money for a D.C. charity. The game has happened every year since 1909, except in 2020 due to COVID.

Last night, Republicans and Democrats turned their attention to home plate, hoping to be declared the victors and win the nation’s heart through America’s game – baseball.

Who won?…. Who cares!?!

With Congress locked in a stalemate over the debt ceiling and spending plan, a donation to the winner’s charity won’t ease the tension. For months we’ve heard about the concern of reaching and surpassing the U.S. debt ceiling.

In fact, we hit the debt ceiling spending limit in August. The Democrats think it’s critical to make Republicans accomplices in their egregious spending plan by figuratively holding the debt ceiling over them. When media-backed coercion as a tactic didn’t work to make Republicans hand over the votes and freely pass an expansive spending plan, they called for a change-up.

With the night at the ballpark settled for the year, Congress is back in session. Now the Democrat majority is pitching to the inside by pushing its spending plan through reconciliation to side-step any Republican plans to stop passage.

What does that mean?

Democrats want to cast blame on Republicans for stalling a spending plan. But the truth is, a large chunk of the Republican delegation agreed to pass a short-term budget that doesn’t raise the debt ceiling. Unfortunately, that isn’t enough dough for Democrats who seem intent on forcing more spending.

Leveraging debt can be a helpful strategy in finance – but taking a look at the current amount of debt America bears begs the question – what ceiling would be enough?

To make matters worse, Republicans have a history of caving and will likely do the same this time too. Regardless, both parties will team up to pass some sort of budget, and the price tag will be more than we can afford.

In the end, the American people lose, and future generations get stuck with the bill regardless. Maybe it’s time to cut the entire team in 2022 and start a rebuild, because all the players on the field stink.

  1. CONGRESS IS DISGUSTING! They need to grow up & do the job WE THE PEOPLE HIRED THEM TO DO.

When voting next election THROW OUT ALL THE BUMBS THAT ARE NOT DOING WHAT YOU HIRED THEM FOR. LET’S ALL SAY YOU ARE FIRED.

  2. The United States Government is a joke. They throw the American workers money all over the world like it’s Monopoly money, and there’s an every bearing money tree in the back yard. Why was this spending habit ever authorized in the first place? If the wealthy want to fund other countries, let them open their pocket books and give them everything they have. But that’s not good enough, they hold onto their money and add to their totals while bankrupting the working people of the United States. I’m quite sick of it.
