Rand v. Fauci What you missed

Washington, D.C. – National Health Director Anthony Fauci was brought back in front of the Senate Health Committee to discuss COVID-19 policy and response. Each time Fauci has faced the committee, he has been met with a fiery line of questioning from Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and this meeting was no exception.

Sen. Paul went straight on the offensive, saying that it is dangerous for anyone [referring to Fauci] to act as the “unilateral” voice of science.

Paul goes on to explain that Fauci has used his position to smear doctors and medical experts who disagree with him. Paul cited an email exchange with Dr. Collins and Fauci, collaborating a “takedown” of three epidemiologists from Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford.

Fauci and Collins call these scientists “fringe” for opposing mass lockdowns.

As Paul points out, Fauci did not debate the epidemiologists in a medical journal but instead used mainstream media articles in an attempt to discredit them and ruin their careers.

Fauci denied, per usual, saying “As usual, you’re incorrect” but Fauci gave no substantive rebuttal to Rand’s claims.

Pressing on, Rand asked Fauci if he felt the term “conspiracy theory” was appropriate in a scientific paper. This accusation made Fauci visibly shake with anger.

Fauci tried to pivot accusing Paul of resorting to personal attacks “without a shred of evidence.”

Dr. Fauci said Paul is “kindling crazies” and is inciting death threats against him. Fauci then displayed pictures of Sen. Paul’s website which prominently displays “Fire Dr. Fauci.”
