Albany, NY — New York Democrat legislators are considering an impeachment inquiry for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home scandal.

New York Assemblyman Ron Kim (D) said that support for an impeachment inquiry was building amongst his fellow Democrats.

Kim claimed that 25-30 Democrats now support an impeachment inquiry in an interview on the Yahoo News “Skullduggery” podcast. He also noted that “virtually all” Republicans are on board.

This interview comes after Kim accused Cuomo of calling him and threatening to end Kim’s career if he did not retract his statement about Cuomo covering up nursing home deaths.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “that’s classic Andrew Cuomo,” in response to Kim’s accusations of Cuomo bullying the assemblyman.

While Democrats in New York turn against Cuomo, the White House continues to dodge questions about his administration’s coverup of nursing home deaths. President Joe Biden’s administration is keeping quiet despite Cuomo’s top aide admitting the Cuomo administration hid the real death count from federal investigators during the 2020 election.

This all came after New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report stating Cuomo’s administration undercounted nursing home deaths by at least 50 percent.

The FBI and New York state prosecutors are now reportedly investigating the scandal.

Despite the mounting evidence, Cuomo continues to deny the accusations, calling them “lies” and “misinformation.”
