Mandates Dividing the Thanksgiving Table

How much has changed this Thanksgiving compared to last year now that we have mandated vaccines?

Based on predictions of increased COVID cases, for Thanksgiving 2020 many families were deciding whether to break bread together or not. Take a peek into one family’s decision to get together. Grandma invited folks over – yes even those from out-of-state, set the table and prepared the food.

She asked her daughter to serve everyone from a buffet line, as to limit the number of people touching the serving spoons. That process lasted for two plates until Grandpa decided he wanted to serve himself and then the rest of the attendees followed suit.

The gathering went well. No one fell ill, yet the time was somber and hushed. The joy of gathering to share a meal and stories of the year was dampened by the concern of dancing around the issue of the pandemic, both within the family and within the societal judgment.

There was particular stress for those who wanted a vaccine to feel more secure but didn’t have access to one – as the emergency version of the vaccine was still awaiting approval.

Those who didn’t feel they needed a vaccine had compassion on those who felt a vaccine was an important element for their health. The freedom to discuss and value differences in personal medical choices shined through.

Flash forward a year.

Thanksgiving is here once more, and what changes have we seen?

  • Vaccines and boosters are available to those who want them
  • President Biden and a Democrat ransomed congress is now in charge and imposing mandating vaccines that are hurting our businesses and economy
  • Shaming is now deemed an appropriate way to address differences in values regarding vaccination
  • Hospitals are less equipped to handle COVID cases, due to the loss of talented staff (see bullets two and three)

While the first point brings hope to those who felt they couldn’t engage in society safely without the added measure, the following bullets take what could have been helpful support (an emergency vaccine) and weaponizes it.

Now companies already burdened with staff shortages are facing fines if they refuse to force vaccination on their employees… unless you’re in Florida. Additionally, employees are required to choose between making a living or medical freedom… unless you’re in Florida.

For American’s looking at stability, we can look at what remains the same from last Autumn, but spoiler alert… it’s not a lot of bright, cheery news…

This year:

  • Grandma is still inviting family over for dinner on Thursday
  • The pandemic is still in full swing across the U.S. and the world – regardless of vaccination status
  • The U.S. is still operating under emergency conditions

With almost 70% of Americans vaccinated, the plan to defeat COVID by mandating what should be a personal medical choice has failed. However, it is not because the vaccine didn’t do what it’s supposed to do – to lessen the severity of getting sick…

It failed because the government is controlling the interest of those in power – Politicians and Big Pharma. It failed because it was promoted as the only way forward. Fauci and President Biden sold American’s on the idea of a cure; and even as that “cure-all” continues to disappoint, they mandate and shame citizens and businesses who believe in medical freedom of choice.

This year we suggest skipping the vaccine serving line and gathering around the table to discuss the value of American freedom, thankful for the blessings God has provided, and praying for the future of our country.

  1. Tired of mask mandates, effect travel plans BIG time
Masks are useless from many studies done
    NOT for kids under 12
Vaccines U apply as U need & or honor Natural Immunity

  2. Yes, we did enjoy Thanksgiving dinner “”again this year”” with 19 friends and family members! Just the same as we did “last year”. We will not be controlled by the “stupid political nonsense” that democrats are dishing out. None of the family has been vaccinated, but one friend has had 2 shots. NO ONE was concerned about getting sick this year, and NO ONE got sick “last year”. And, we’re not going to worry about it. We live our lives as normal. NEVER have we given in to the insanity of the “LEFT”, NOR WILL WE IN THE FUTURE!

  3. The mandates are further dividing the country. You especially see this now in schools, where the students that aren’t masked are being targeted by the students who are. No one respects personal choice and personal responsibility any longer. Tempers are short and people are rude.
What should have been done and should be done: YOU are responsible for YOUR safety and body. If you feel comfortable going out without a mask and not vaccinated, then do it – no restrictions. If you are one you is afraid, has other health conditions to consider, etc. then YOU need to decide how much risk you are willing to take. If you want to wear a mask – wear one. If you want to be vaccinated – get vaccinated. If you aren’t comfortable being out in public without knowing if people are vaccinated or if people aren’t wearing a mask – then YOU stay home! It is up to you to decide the risk you want to take – but do not impose restrictions on others so you feel safer!
