Albany, NY — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo refuses to resign despite mounting scandals involving him and his administration.
Cuomo stands accused of hiding nursing home deaths from the public, bullying staffers and politicians, and multiple instances of sexual harassment. Five women have now come forward with accusations against the governor.
Calls for Cuomo increase with every new scandal, but Cuomo is fighting back.
New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D) joined the growing number of Democrats calling for Cuomo’s resignation. In response, Cuomo stated, “there is no way I resign.” In fact, he condemned the legislature, saying he “wasn’t elected by politicians.”
“They don’t override the people’s will, they don’t get to override elections. I was elected by the people of New York state. I wasn’t elected by politicians.”
In a phone call prior to that statement, Cuomo reportedly told Stewart-Cousins they would have to impeach him to remove him from office. The AP cited an anonymous person who was briefed on the phone call, which was intended to be private.
Ironically, the increasing calls for Cuomo’s resignation or impeachment come only two months after Cuomo called on President Donald Trump to resign or be impeached.
It is unclear if the 3-term governor can weather the increasing number of accusations and scandals. Cuomo is under federal investigation for hiding nursing home deaths in the state. A move that many believe contributed to unnecessary deaths in the state’s most vulnerable population.

Personally George–I DO NOT want him to resign and still collect any benefits–including retirement income! I DO want him impeached/fired so he cannot collect ANY BENEFITS.
And, yes–he refused any TRUMP aid and assistance and has actually left vaccine to rot! He is not/was not/and never fit to govern New York! He literally murdered thousands of New Yorkers due to his total hatred and incompetence!
