David Chipman King of ATF Scandals

Washington, D.C. — Biden’s nominee for Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), David Chipman, is scheduled to receive a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee this Thursday, June 24th.

The vote has been delayed multiple times, which is making experts wonder if Chipman does not have the votes to be confirmed.

Chipman is one of, if not the most, controversial of Biden’s appointments. Since the day his name was mentioned as the potential nominee, Chipman has faced intense scrutiny from pro-gun communities and groups.

Even moderate Republican Senator Susan Collins called Chipman “unusually divisive” and signaled she would vote against him.

There are a multitude of problems with Chipman that extend even beyond policy, even though that alone may be enough to put an end to his nomination.

Chipman spent the last decade as a top policy advocate for gun control groups, such as the Giffords Law Center and Everytown. He openly embraced those groups as recently as one month ago when Chipman testified that he wants to ban “assault weapons” but then refused to define the term.

But that’s not all when it comes to Chipman.

It has also become apparent that Chipman has been involved in nearly every ATF scandal in the last 30 years.

Chipman played a role in the Waco disaster (although he has since denied involvement even though it is listed on his resume), the Ruby Ridge siege that resulted in the death of an innocent woman, and the Fast and Furious scandal.

David Chipman headed up the Mexico ATF office throughout Operation Fast and Furious, which involved selling arms to Mexican drug cartels and eventually resulted in the deaths of at least 150 Mexicans and United State Border Patrol Officer Brian Terry.

The list of ATF scandals Chipman HASN’T been involved in may be shorter than the list he has.

On top of all this, Chipman also reportedly lost his service weapon on multiple occasions, a fact that is causing concern even in Democrat circles.

If Chipman advances through the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, he will have to receive a vote in the full Senate before he is confirmed. He will need 51 votes, so even if one Democrat turns, Chipman’s confirmation will be in jeopardy.

      1. Mr.chipman is way to incompetent, to lead anything, in fact, he should be fired for his incompetence, not put in position, to lead this messed up department. He has caused more problems than he has solved, he a zero, and no one has any confidence in this nincompoop.

  1. These stupid MF in Washington can’t understand it is not gun problem it is the judicial punishment problem. Criminals know if they kill someone with a gun will not get a harsh punishment.

    1. They do understand it and they don’t care, because correcting the gun problem is not their objective. Their objective is to compel the people to ask government permission to exercise their rights like every other so-called “western democracy.” The Brady Act, for example, has nothing to do with keeping firearms out of criminal hands; it has to do with requiring citizens to ask for revocable permission to exercise a right government has no lawful authority to issue or deny. We are the only nation in history to be founded upon principles of liberty under the rule of law, in which our RIGHTS are beyond the reach of government. The federal government doesn’t even have the authority to license firearm dealers or authorize a government agency to exercise oversight over our right to keep and bear arms. The ATF needs to be abolished for lack of subject matter authority and the Brady Act needs to be repealed for violating our 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th Amendment-protected rights. We, the people, need to make it so.

  2. As an Army veteran, during my career I saw 2 lose members weapons. Both weapons were found , but both members were reduced in grade and at the end of their enlistment had to get out. Chipman should get out!

  4. The question that arises in my mind is this — why is ANY Republican Senator or any moderate Democrat Senator giving this man any consideration whatsoever for approval by the Committee to send his name forward to the Senate floor for a vote. There must be times when senators must stand upon the principles that they hold and espouse in favor over Senate congeniality, decorum, or any other non-principle consideration.

  5. Chipman is a killer and alsways has been. He should been on trial for several murders much less putting hom in charge of anything. Biden and his murderous froends all need to be hung but the real culpriys of this mess in AMERICA today is soros and his super rich nazi friends. this is the interview with soros that CBS edited, shows how truthful CBS is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGWizajL7tA
THis audio excerpt at the end was taken out of the interview, I know I heard it a few years back, and shows this man should have been hung with the other nazi criminals. These are the root cause of our issues. We will see if this goes through.

  6. If the Biden administration didn’t put former crooks into office, they wouldn’t have anyone at all in office! Has the Democrat Party been raiding prison parolees to find suitable people to nominate for important federal positions?

Americans, let’s just ask the question. Why are so many Democrats criminals?

  7. These integrity compromised and downright unqualified and goofy nominees of Beijing Briben speaks volumes about this cognitively challenged occupant of the White House and his handlers!

  8. Back in 1994 I worked Casino security in Laughlin Nevada. Fun job saw many strange things. But one thing still stands out tome. Housekeeping called security because of some items f
left in the room after checkout. The items were two handguns two sets of ID’s and some clothes in a small handbag like a gym bag. They were ATF ID’s. I was shift supervisor so I contact my boss. I brought the items to the security office. We contacted ATF in Las Vegas but received a return call from Phoenix Arizona ATF Office. The supervisor requested the badge number and verified that the were in fact genuine. The supervisor faxed photo ID of the officer coming to retrieve the items and what time he would arrive. Only info we got was one ATF officer was in Chicago for a meeting and the other ATF Officer (female) was supposed to be in San Francisco for anther meeting. And the Phoenix ATF (Station Chief? Boss) was stomping mad. We had the ATF Officer who received the items sign for every item and saved the video of his visit.
