Chicago, IL — At least 47 people were shot, and seven are dead, including a police officer, in one night of Chicago violence over the weekend.
Well, less than 24 hours technically.
Officer Ella French was shot and killed during a traffic stop. Her partner was also shot in the encounter and remained hospitalized as of Sunday night.
The 24 hours of violence also included two mass shootings at nightclubs in Chicago’s Gresham neighborhood.
A total of at least 75 people were shot over the full weekend. Nine of those people died due to their wounds.
The alarming weekend of violence comes after Mayor Lori Lightfoot LIED about the homicide rate in Chicago a little over a month ago.
Lightfoot blamed guns and gangs for the weekend of violence despite the city’s strict gun laws.

Why would anyone believe ANYTHING coming out of Chicago? The Obummer was hard proof of that city’s political integrity, or lack thereof, and we’re still suffering his “leadership” hiding behind the big chair in the Oval Office. And please tell me why there is no photo or description of the killer? It doesn’t matter whether the perp is black or white or yellow, or green—-why don’t we know that? Is there a reason to hide or lie about that too?
Chicago makes it almost impossible for a citizen to carry any type of firearm in the city. Even if guns were completely banned in Chicago, the gun violence would still be prevalent. Criminals do not abide by laws. If there were a way to remove all firearms from Chicago the murders and injuries would not be reduced. The criminals wold resort to knives, clubs and any other weapon they could get their hands on. Guns are almost non-existent in England but London has a murder crime rate as high as NYC. Arrest and incarcerate the worst gang members and maybe start programs that help the young learn values and provide them wholesome actives that promote education and a strong work ethic. Whatever they are doing now obviously isn’t working.
