Chicago, IL — Mayor Lori Lightfoot just lied at a press conference about homicides declining in Chicago despite rising numbers.
“Crime is not out of control in our city. In fact, crime is on the decline,” Lightfoot said.
Lightfoot is flat out lying to and gaslighting the residents of Chicago. Her claim that “crime is on the decline” is demonstrably false.
Let’s consider this situation for a moment because I am not sure which is worse.
Either Lightfoot knows she is flat out lying to people on television, or she actually does not know that homicides and shootings are increasing year over year in Chicago.
If she knows she is lying, then that tells the people of Chicago that Lightfoot does not care about their lives. She only cares about maintaining her power.
On the other hand, if Lightfoot does not know that shootings are increasing in Chicago, it shows that she does not care about the lives of Chicagoans AND that she is so incompetent that she could not operate a drive-through window.
Whatever the reason, Lightfoot is gaslighting the entire city.
As of June 30, homicides in 2021 already surpassed the total number of homicides in 2020. A whopping 350 people have been murdered in the first six months of 2021 in Chicago. In 2020, there were 348 homicides through the same period.

The strict gun laws and defunding of the police are certainly working in Chicago. Just watch this video of a criminal attempting to fire a rifle with a 100 round drum magazine in heavy Chicago traffic, and Lightfoot’s comments will make complete sense.
See? Crime is not out of control in Chicago.

Rather I blame the people who voted for and entrusted people of this low caliber to run our towns/cities/states/country. Sharing the blame is the Republican Party for their failure to physically work in these districts so as to educate the population as to the repercussions of their choices.

Chicago has been politically “problematic” for over 100 years. It was run by the DEMOCRATS who assured that thousands of dead democrats voted at every election even back then. Chicago has been KNOWN for its inability to allow real people to vote and have a say in ANYTHING.
