University of Colorado Health Hospital Denies Kidney Transplant over COVID Vaccination Status

Denver – University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) is denying organ transplants if the recipient is not vaccinated against COVID-19.

A Colorado woman named Leliani Lutali is in stage 5 renal failure and is currently being denied a kidney transplant due to her lack of vaccination. In her case, she had a previous relationship with her donor whom she met in Bible Study.

The donor is also not allowed to donate her kidney for the same reason.

UCHealth is now doubling down on its position by releasing the following statement to its employees:

“UCHealth’s requirement for transplant recipients and living donors to be vaccinated against COVID-19 increases the likelihood that a transplant will be successful, and that the patient will experience a positive outcome.”

What is not explained is how a positive outcome can be reached if the patient dies from being denied care.

The hospital system is denying a potentially life-saving procedure in favor of the COVID-19 vaccine, which has been approved by the FDA in less than two months. Lutali cited this as a concern when asked why she has not been vaccinated.

The organ donor list often specifies health requirements for donors and recipients, including weight standards, smoking habits, and sometimes vaccination requirements.

However, in the case of Lutali, who has a direct donor in place and is not on the donor list, she is being denied care regardless. This calls into question the Hippocratic oath which physicians swear to. Denying care based on a vaccine that is unrelated to the patient’s condition has serious moral implications that UCHealth is choosing to ignore.

The story first picked up steam when Colorado State House Rep. Tim Geitner posted the letter to Twitter on Tuesday:

Since then, the story has made its way to the Washington Post, Fox News, and more.

Even though the case is making national headlines, it does not appear that UCHealth intends to back down.

In their message to their employees, UCHealth discourages talking to the media and instead wants all correspondence to go through their own media relations representative.

  1. If she dies because of not getting a transplanted Kidney, whoever made the decision to deny her the transplant should be arrested for murder!!!

  2. I see this web site is into Censorship big time. I’m terribly sorry that your feelings were hurt by my truthful comments.

  3. So now the unvaccinated must declare themselves “Unclean”?
Welcome to Communism. Or worse. Where only the “Clean” get healthcare. And jobs. And food. And anything else the Left can think of.

  4. The medical field is now being controlled by bean counters and pencil pushers. Doctors are sworn to the Hippocratic oath – yet you now see people being denied medical care because they won’t submit to God-only-knows what’s in that shot. People are DYING because of that shot!! No one seems to give a shit! I am disgusted with what I’m seeing!!!!!

  5. Silly me. I thought hospitals were in the business of saving people’s lives not setting them up for death. Perhaps the rest of us need to steer clear of this provider. Just saying…
