U.S. Senate Only Confirmed 7 of Biden’s Cabinet Nominees Before Impeachment Trial

Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Senate only confirmed seven of Biden’s cabinet nominees before switching focus to the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.

Those seven cabinet members in order of confirmation include:

  1. Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence
  2. Lloyd Austin, Secretary of Defense
  3. Janet Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury
  4. Antony Blinken, Secretary of State
  5. Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security
  6. Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of Transportation
  7. Denis McDonough, Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Biden’s nominations mark a return to entrenched government bureaucrats controlling the most powerful positions in the United States. That is to say, Biden’s cabinet is full of swamp people.

McDonough, the most recently confirmed cabinet member, served as former President Barack Obama’s White House Chief of Staff.

Mayor Pete served as the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, form 2012 to 2020 and failed to beat Biden in the Democratic presidential primary. He is one of the few not directly tied to Obama.

Mayorkas served in the Department of Homeland Security during the Obama administration. He first served as Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, then as Deputy Secretary. Interestingly, Biden recently reopened an immigration facility that former President Donald Trump shut down after protests from Democrats citing “kids in cages.”

Blinken is another Obama administration goon. He served as Deputy National Security Advisor and later as Deputy Secretary of State. He dubbed Edward Snowden a traitor for blowing the whistle on a massive NSA spy program that targeted law-abiding American citizens.

Yellen previously served as the Chair of the Federal Reserve during the Obama administration. She recently called on Congress to “act big” on spending and advocated for Biden’s plan to introduce a $15 minimum wage. The economically destructive federal minimum wage hike appears dead for now. However, it remains a threat to small businesses across the country while Democrats control Congress and Biden controls the presidency.

Austin, unsurprisingly, also held a powerful role during the Obama era. He served as the 12th commander of the U.S. Central Command.

Finally, Obama appointed Haines as Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency in 2013. She once overruled the CIA Inspector General, choosing not to discipline CIA personnel who hacked Senate staffers’ computers. She worked closely with former CIA director John Brennan and later served as Deputy National Security Advisor.

It is day three of Trump’s second impeachment trial. Both prosecutors and the defense have 16 hours to present their arguments to the starkly divided Senate.

Meanwhile, over 20 million Americans are collecting unemployment benefits as the U.S. economy and job market continue to struggle.

  1. This is the Obama 3rd term. I have to assume this is what people wanted. They voted for it. Miss President Trump, yet? I do every time I go fuel up my car.
