Washington, D.C. — Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order that lifted the mask mandate for the state and allows businesses to open at 100 percent.
The press release accompanying the order noted an increase in vaccine availability and a surplus of personal protective equipment in the state.
Approximately 5.7 million Texans already received a COVID-19 vaccine. About 7 million Texans will receive a vaccine by next Wednesday.
The order takes also effect next Wednesday.
This is a huge win for businesses in the Lone Star State. Many businesses, including bars and restaurants, were still restricted to 50 percent capacity.
Abbott issued the mask mandate at the beginning of July when coronavirus cases were on the rise. The mandate applied to any counties with 20 or more COVID-19 cases.

He and many of his fellow elected officials, supported the “Big Lie” of the rigged election. That contributed to the Jan. 6, 2021 Capital insurrection. Now, Jonnie come lately” Abbott to enforce any type of preventive action for the Covid-19 virous. That had little enforcement impact. Now, with only about 15% of the population inoculated against the virous, he has lifted ALL restrictions. That is just in time for the hoard of Spring Brake seekers to invade the State, get infected and spread it across the country again.
