Palm Beach, FL — Former President Donald Trump announced plans to form a new super PAC to his political advisors at a meeting at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday.
Trump tapped his long-time ally and former 2016 campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to lead the unnamed super PAC.
Jason Miller, a former senior adviser in Trump’s White House, attended the meeting. He said Trump would release more information regarding the super PAC in the weeks ahead.
Trump is slated to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. The annual conference began on Thursday and ends Sunday.
The announcement of a Trump-controlled super PAC likely means Trump does not plan to run for president again in 2024. Instead, the former president likely plans to take on a supporting role to elect candidates to Congress.
That said, over 50 percent of Republican voters say they will support Trump in a primary.
The only certainty is that Trump will continue to play a decisive role in the GOP.
