London, England, U.K. – We haven’t done a lot of international coverage because we have plenty going on here in the U.S. of A. However, as conservatives, we were delighted to hear about the results of the election in the United Kingdom. Conservatives dominated, and liberals suffered their worst defeat in Parliament since 1935!

So, how did the Liberals of London lose so badly? Well, we think this quote may be spot-on:

“The exit poll spells disaster for the main opposition Labour party which was projected to win just 191 seats — its worst result since 1935,” AFP reported, noting that Corbyn “focused Labour’s campaign on a radical programme of economic change, including nationalising key industries, which failed to woo traditional voters.”

Alan Johnson, The Daily Wire, December 12, 2019

For those of you not paying attention, nationalizing (how we spell it in America) key industries means the government is taking over not just private businesses but whole industries. This is socialism, folks. As it turns out, even the liberal-leaning Brits know this socialism malarkey doesn’t work.

This leads us to the bigger issue here, Brexit. The U.K. hasn’t been able to piece together a plan to exit the European Union (that’s what Brexit is). The exit push is because they don’t want centralized control of their economic system and borders from some foreign nationals, especially when the people in control are all about control – in a socialist manner.

It now appears Brexit will happen on January 30, 2020. The E.U. is already posturing to punish the U.K. as a trade partner. Of course, this isn’t about economics. It’s about control – much like all of socialism. The U.K. is arguably the 2nd strongest economy in Europe. Cutting off the U.K. as a trading partner is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Hopefully, the U.K. will stand strong, and we’ll see a major push back against the E.U. from other countries.

We find this kind of funny (not ha-ha funny) that the Democrats in the U.S. are trying to do what England just rejected again – socialism. The irony isn’t lost on us, that in 1776 we declared our independence from England because of the same reason – we didn’t want centralized control by a foreign government.

So will the Democrats learn their lesson from the elections in the U.K.? We doubt it. In 2020, President Trump may be re-elected. We can’t wait for the snowflake meltdown!
