Washington, D.C. – The independent media group Project Veritas released documents showing Dr. Anthony Fauci funded gain of function research despite a moratorium on the controversial research.
From Veritas:
“The report states that EcoHealth Alliance approached DARPA (an agency under the U.S. Department of Defense in charge of facilitating research) in March 2018, seeking funding to conduct gain of function research of bat borne coronaviruses. The proposal, named Project Defuse, was rejected by DARPA over safety concerns and the notion that it violates the basis gain of function research moratorium.
According to the documents, NIAID, under the direction of Dr. Fauci, went ahead with the research in Wuhan, China and at several sites across the U.S.
Dr. Fauci has repeatedly maintained, under oath, that the NIH and NAIAD have not been involved in gain of function research with the EcoHealth Alliance program. But according to the documents obtained by Project Veritas which outline why EcoHealth Alliance’s proposal was rejected, DARPA certainly classified the research as gain of function.”
As indicated by Project Veritas, Dr. Fauci has repeatedly testified in the Senate under oath that the National Institute of Health (NIH) has not funded gain of function research, which Veritas proves to be false.
Gain of function research is the process of adding functions to viruses to increase their transmissibility and/or lethality.
Many allege this type of research contributed to the COVID-19 outbreak, as the Wuhan Institute of Virology specialized in this research – which leads to further speculation that the virus originally came from a lab leak.
Project Veritas also set up a Twitter account with the username @ExposeFauci to promote this major story. Twitter already banned the account without explanation or warning.
But Twitter didn’t stop there, they also banned Project Veritas’ Communications Director, Eric Spracklen – effectively silencing the organization.
Democrats in the Senate are unlikely to press charges of perjury against Dr. Fauci, but the crime is a federal offense that could lead to time in prison. So far, Sen. Rand Paul is the loudest supporter for charging Fauci, but no charges have been made.
