Washington, D.C. – Socialist icon, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in hot water with her base after she changed her vote on a bill to fund Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ defense system.
For context, AOC and ‘The Squad’ recently threatened to hold up a key military funding bill (The National Defense Authorization Act) if the bill was going to include funding for Israel’s missile defense system, known as the Iron Dome.
The Iron Dome has been in the headlines this summer as it was used to fend off attacks from Hezbollah and Hamas.
Some Democrats want to defund the Iron Dome due to their support for Palestine and overall opposition to Israel. ‘The Squad’ was successful in separating the vote, but in the end, it did not matter. Leadership in the House decided to pass Iron Dome funding as a stand-alone bill.
The standalone bill passed 420 to 9, with two “present” votes.
The big story though is not that the bill passed, but instead how Rep. Ocasio-Cortez voted. The New York socialist and supposed progressive troublemaker appear to have caved to Pelosi and Democrat leadership on her vote.
AOC initially voted ‘NAY,’ but after a quick chat with her party leaders, she switched her vote to ‘PRESENT.’
AOC can later be seen on camera crying and hugging a fellow Democrat representative. This highlights the point that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez likes to talk a big game about being a rebel in Congress, but when push comes to shove, she will just fall in line and do as she’s told.
The vote change did not shield her from criticism though, as she managed to make both sides of the debate angry. The anti-Israel progressives chastised her for caving, and the Democrat establishment still went after her for not being in full support.
In a desperate attempt to save face, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez went on to apologize for her vote and blamed procedure for her position.
As mentioned in her statement, she had a call with Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer before the vote. Leadership has many ways to apply pressure on dissenting members of their party, and it appears that AOC was subject to that pressure.
No other reasoning makes any sense.

aoc was told get in line and stay in line or she would be primary with their choice having 30 mil in funds, so she caved. The sad fact is that the majority of her supporters are Jewish, and she hates Jews, the fact that Jews vote for a socialist time after time is mind blowing wtf

I also wonder why any Jewish person would vote for socialist candidates. Maybe they are too young to remember the holocaust or never took the time to find out the history of the Nazi socialist workers party.
