Washington, D.C. — White House Press Secretary Jenn Psaki just refused to admit that Americans are stranded behind enemy lines in Afghanistan.
“Does the president have a sense that most of the criticism is not of leaving Afghanistan, it’s the way that he has ordered to happen — by pulling the troops before getting these Americans that are now stranded,” Townhall’s Peter Doocy asked.
“I think it’s irresponsible to say Americans are stranded. They are not,” Psaki replied.
Doocy replied, “‘There are no Americans stranded’ is the White House’s official position on what’s happening in Afghanistan right now?”
Psaki, for her part, pulls a pretty great bait-and-switch after Doocy’s question.
Regardless, Psaki is flat-out lying.
Whether or not the White House is able to get all of the Americans that are in Afghanistan out of the country, they are by definition STRANDED right now.
There are Americans in Afghanistan who are unable to travel to Kabul airport with the Taliban locking down the country. These people are stranded, and it’s disingenuous for the White House to claim otherwise.\
The worst part about this whole situation is the Biden administration is unwilling to admit any failure on their part when it comes to the American exit from Afghanistan.
