For years, members of the media and various activists on the left have described the U.S. as being a laughing stock of the world.
We’ve all heard stories about how the U.S. is a “racist, bigoted and backward” country with a joke of a President. They tell us to forget about making America great because it never was.
Yet when people are fighting for their freedom from a tyrannical government, they don’t wave the EU flag. They don’t wave the UK, Canadian, or French flags, they wave the flag of the United States.
In the case of the Hong Kong people, they’ve even gone as far as singing the Star-Spangled Banner in the streets.
Chinese troops and tanks appear to be preparing for an all-out invasion of Hong Kong. These protestors are risking their lives in the hope that they too can have the kind of life and freedom we enjoy every day. Freedom and liberty that sometimes seems taken for granted in the U.S.
If this protestor’s sign is any indication, they are willing to fight any tyranny for the hope of a better tomorrow.
Remember that next time somebody tells you that our country isn’t worth defending, and our flag stands for nothing – for many around the world, they mean everything.
You can even imagine what kind of a world it would be if ALL of China became free and Capitalist ?
Independence for all, free thinking, free speech, everything Americans take for granted.
They are an intelligent, hard working race of people who have been forced to live under some form of Dictatorship for several thousand years, they have NEVER been truly free. They have a long, hard, ugly fight ahead but If they ever manage to burst out they will make China into a super power the world has never seen.
We Yanks once went against the world super power of the time and won ! I respect them for trying.
