Parler Returns Today for 20 Million Users Silenced by Big Tech

Henderson, NV — Social media alternative Parler returns today for 20 million users silenced by big tech censorship when Amazon Web Services shut down Parler servers last month.

Interim CEO Mark Meckler spoke with Just the News about Parler’s return.

While some users are already live, those who are not should have their accounts restored by midday. Meckler said they are “off the big tech platform,” and the social media alternative should be “safe and secure for the future.”

According to the report, Meckler also said:

“…the platform is using artificial intelligence and human editors to police for illegal speech that violates its service agreement but otherwise is remaining true to its free speech, no censorship roots.”

From Just the News

Former CEO John Matze was abruptly fired at the end of January. He reportedly held different opinions on the direction Parler should take.

In a statement to Fox News, Matze said, “Over the past few months, I’ve met constant resistance to my product vision, my strong belief in free speech and my view of how the Parler site should be managed. For example, I advocated for more product stability and what I believe is a more effective approach to content moderation.”

If Parler does stay true to its “no censorship roots,” this is fantastic news for conservatives pushed off social media giants Twitter and Facebook for speaking their minds. The relaunch is also fantastic news for former President Donald Trump, who was systematically removed from Twitter and Facebook following the 2002 election.

The America’s Citizen Press Parler account is not yet active, but we will make an announcement when our access is restored. New users are supposed to be able to create new accounts sometime next week.
