Trump Acquitted: These 7 Republican Senators Voted to Convict

Washington, D.C. — Donald Trump was acquitted of the impeachment charge against him, but these seven Republican Senators voted to convict the former president.

  • Lisa Murkowski (AK)
  • Bill Cassidy (LA)
  • Susan Collins (ME)
  • Richard Burr (NC)
  • Ben Sasse (NE)
  • Pat Toomey (PA)
  • Mitt Romney (UT)

The final vote on whether or not to impeach Trump ended in a 57-43 vote. That is far short of the 67 votes needed to convict Trump.

Chaos ensued early on Saturday when House impeachment managers threw the entire Senate a curveball. The Senate voted to allow a witness after an effort by Democrat impeachment handlers led by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD). However, within hours of the vote, Democrats changed course after Trump’s legal team threatened to call as many as 100 witnesses, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The second failed effort to convict Trump means the Senate cannot hold a vote to block Trump from running for federal office in the future. The former president is keeping quiet on whether or not he plans to run again.

However, Trump is not keeping quiet on his plans for the congressmen and congresswomen he sees as disloyal to Republican voters. He plans to target multiple Republican primaries in 2022.

Now that the latest impeachment charade is over, the country can return to worrying about the damage President Joe Biden is causing with an endless stream of executive orders.

  1. I say we charge these seven with treason and convict them; then we go after every democommie on the other side of the aisle. Start with fancy nancy, who IS an avowed communist and has been for decades.

  2. Mitt Romney is a disgrace along with the other gop senators who stabbed president Trump in the back. We wonder why the Republican Party is so fragmented, the demons stick together like bat poop right or wrong. Get rid of these turncoats and rebuild our party to stand up and be as one!

  3. For these seven, treason is a bit of a stretch, however censure and recall would still punish them and send a message. At the same time censure would prevent them ever holding another public office, best bet all around. Treason can and should be applied to fancy nancy, schumer, nadler, fraudbama, clapper, brennan, comey, strozk, China joe and company and about 80+ other avowed communist members, who sit in OUR Congress and don’t forget the lyingbitchofBenghazi! Haven’t made up my mind about Bill Barr yet – -his actions and behavior are questionable, at this point; not enough proof yet.

  4. I’m not sure why but this web site is loading extremely slow for me.

Is anyone else having this problem or is
it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if
    the problem still exists.
