Man Acquitted of Shooting at Deputies During a Botched Raid

VERO BEACH, FL – Andrew Coffee IV was found not guilty on charges of murder and attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

Jurors found that Coffee acted in self-defense when a SWAT team raided his home in 2017. Law enforcement was pursuing Coffee’s father, Andrew Coffee III. When the SWAT team entered the home, Coffee IV, who was sleeping at the time, awoke to men in body armor in his home and began firing.

Coffee IV’s defense team argued the SWAT team did not identify themselves to Coffee IV when they entered the home. Law enforcement returned fire, and Coffee’s girlfriend was killed in the crossfire.

Coffee was charged with the murder of his girlfriend and attempted murder of law enforcement, but the court ultimately found that Coffee acted in self-defense.

The sheriff’s office still refuses to take the blame for the incident.

This case made national news just this week, but not for what you might imagine.

In the wake of Kyle Rittenhouse’s acquittal of murder charges in Kenosha, Wisconsin, members of the left-wing media were quick to call out the supposed “white privilege” that led to Kyle’s acquittal. Even though the jury in the Rittenhouse case was made up of 12 men and women of diverse ethnicities, the left wants to frame this as an issue of race.

Andrew Coffee IV’s acquittal came on the same day as the Rittenhouse verdict.

Conservative pundits were quick to jump on Coffee’s case because Coffee is African American. Coffee successfully utilized the same legal defense as Kyle Rittenhouse and the national media refuses to acknowledge it.

The natural right to self-defense does not apply or exclude any class of citizens. Coffee IV and Rittenhouse both exercised this right, and both are justly free from murder charges.

  1. When police break into your house what do they expect is going to happen. Unless I see who they are, they will be shot at.

  2. Coffee and Rittenhouse are both innocent for the same exact reason – self defense. It does not matter what race they are. In Mr. Coffees case law enforcement did not identify themselves before breaking into his house. Mr. Coffee has the God given right to defend himself. In my opinion the law officer who shot Mr. Coffee’s girl friend should be held liable for her death.

  3. Makes you wonder if the policing force will now use a bull horn to make their announcements now. Having been trained by the Army in counter terrorist techniques UNLESS someone is setting there with his weapon drawn a 30 second warning is just enough to get everything inside moving but not ready for your assault.
As the police/sheriff start raiding private homes in response to increased lawlessness home owners will start making their homes less assailable. I predict that this will escalate until we have almost a war between citizens and the police. Especially if the federalies decide to take over the raids.

  4. His acquittal is total bullshit. Witnesses (neighbors) testified that the police clearly identified themselves before entering the home to execute the warrant. The two cases can’t evn be logically compared, but they MSM still won’t even acknowledge this case because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
