Derek Chauvin Convicted of Murder in Death of George Floyd

Minneapolis, MN — Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder on Tuesday afternoon in the death of George Floyd.

Chauvin was convicted on one count each of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. The second-degree murder charge carries a sentence of up to 40 years in prison.

The jury took over 10 hours to decide on a verdict after sitting through three weeks of testimony.

Chauvin’s sentencing is scheduled for eight weeks from now.

Despite the jury finding Chauvin guilty, Minneapolis is preparing for nights of rioting and looting by anti-police groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

Governor Tim Walz declared a “State of Emergency” before the verdict was announced. He also requested assistance from Ohio and Nebraska. The states are sending over 100 additional officers to help Minnesota maintain order in the event of further unrest after the trial.

Walz also asked the Minnesota State Senate for additional funding to maintain order after riots following the shooting of Daunte Wright by a police officer in Brooklyn Center depleted resources intended for the Chauvin trial.

The Senate passed a bill on Monday to authorize $2.75 million through EMAC for law enforcement and $6.3 million for Minnesota State Trooper expenses.

Riots and unrest are a serious threat to the city despite the jury returning a guilty verdict.

The judge state flat out told the defense that there was a strong argument to have the decision overturned after Congresswoman Maxine Waters publicly declared Chauvin guilty and called for more unrest following the trial.

All eyes will be on Minnesota tonight.

  1. 1. Appeal.
    2. Petition for change of venue.

There was no possible way to convene an unbiased jury after all that Maxine and Pelosi spouted before the trial even started.

  2. Don’t worry, Derek. As soon as the revolution begins, we will free you from Prison. That day is coming soon. Thousands of Dems and other scumbags like George Floyd will soon die. No doubt about it.
