Lansing, MI — Two-year-old children are now officially required to mask up in Michigan after the new rule took effect today. Kids under the age of five were previously not required to wear a mask.
The order was handed down by MDHHS director Elizabeth Hertel, another unelected bureaucrat.
Despite maintaining mask mandates and limiting the operation of private businesses, Michigan is experiencing another “surge” in COVID-19 cases. In contrast, fully opened states like Texas and Florida continue to see fewer cases per capita than Michigan.
CDC data reported by Breitbart shows a dramatic difference.
The state reported 381.5 new cases per 100,000 in the last seven days, compared to Florida which has reported 191.9 cases per 100,000, and Texas which has reported 69.9 cases per 100,000 in the same time frame, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) April 25 data.
The data increasingly show that mask mandates and forced business closures are not making a major difference in the COVID-19 pandemic. What mask mandates are doing is traumatizing children and adults alike.
People are terrified of this virus to an unhealthy degree. It’s been a year, and people who statistically are not at risk of serious complications due to COVID-19 are still hiding in their homes.
Instead of following the statistics showing that two-year-old children are one of the least at-risk demographics for COVID-19 complications, Michigan is forcing parents to keep masks on these kids.
This is lunacy, not science.

Someone should challenge Elizabeth Hertel, Director MDHHS over the “science of 2-year olds” wearing masks vs her job!
If anyone would, they could strip her of her title and sit in her ‘seat’.
There is no science of kids under the age of 11-years old contracting SARS-CoV-2 unless they have severe comorbidities.
Children of that age-range lack the enzyme, ACE-2 which the SARS-Cov-2 requires to introduce itself to the lungs’ cells.

Making young kids wear masks is not justified by any science and should be criminal.
I have not worn a mask in many many months here in Michigan, I did see at the store the other day a little girl about 2 with one one on and a baby that could not have been more than 6 months old with one on….he was in a car seat carrier, I just shook my head…… wake up people Its not healthy to restrict your breathing!
Who will enforce this regulation? It is very hard to get 2 year olds to do anything for more than a few minutes! I guess these Communists, who make these ignorant rules don’t have children.
Looks like another way to drive citizens out of state to leave room for illegal immigrants coming in. Biden can send all the illegal immigrants coming across the border up there to replace the workers. At a much lower salary. Just saying.
