WATCH: Jon Stewart Goes on Rant Saying COVID-19 Came From a Lab

New York City, NY — Jon Stewart, the former host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, went on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show to talk about COVID-19 earlier this week, and the results were unexpected, to say the least.

Stewart is a well-known liberal but has a decent reputation for making fun of “both sides,” especially during his time on the Daily Show. Colbert, who also used to work on The Daily Show, is now a typical late-night talk show host with the politics of Rachel Maddow and the charm of a plastic spork.

Still, Colbert and Stewart have historically made for good TV, and they definitely did not disappoint in their most recent appearance.

Stewart opened his discussion by saying, “I think we owe a great debt of gratitude to science… science has, in many ways, helped ease the suffering of this pandemic – which was more than likely caused by science.”

Jon Stewart went on to say that the virus came from the Wuhan virology lab. He then went on an epic rant dismissing almost any idea that it was naturally born.

Colbert, doing his best to serve the mainstream narrative, tried to make qualifications for Stewart and tried to derail his point … but Stewart was not having it.

Stewart even mocked the idea that the virus could possibly even come naturally from bats saying, “Austin, Texas, has thousands of [bats] that fly out a cave every night at dusk – but is there an Austin coronavirus? There’s no Austin coronavirus.”

Stewart then loudly proclaimed, “This is not a conspiracy.”

Now, don’t be mistaken, Stewart is no conservative or even fringe politician, but he is known for his blunt honesty.

Watch the whole hilarious exchange here, even just to watch Colbert squirm a bit.
