Tancredo: Vampires Are Coming for Our Kids

By: Tom Tancredo

Every dictatorship worth its salt recognizes that the only way to establish a new order of government control is to erase any knowledge of the past — and create new citizens who have had their minds put right by indoctrination in government schools.

In America, the first attempts to make sure that the information being offered in schools was “correct” stemmed from anti-Catholic bigotry. Such fears prompted Senator James Blaine of Maine to go around the country during the Grant administration and promote state constitutional amendments that prevented public funds from being used by any schools “under the control of any religious sect.” Within a few years, 34 states had adopted such an amendment.

In 1922, the state of Oregon passed a law requiring all children to be educated only in public schools. The law was eventually struck down, but the sentiment behind it (anti-religious bigotry) still runs deep in the heart of the left — as we see today with the prohibition on funding certain schools going so far beyond the “under the control of” test to include even a mention of religion or belief in God.

I saw this first hand when in 1992, I wrote and collected enough signatures to put a voucher amendment on the ballot in Colorado. It would have provided that funds appropriated by the state for education be distributed to parents to pay for tuition at schools of their choice and would also help pay for tutorial services and materials used in the task of homeschooling. The amendment failed because it was the ultimate threat to the power of the government school monopoly and the teachers unions, who were, by and large, the economic and political thought beneficiaries of such a monopoly.

Advancing educational freedom is, to the teachers union, like showing a crucifix to a vampire. Opponents outspent us 10 to 1 and used much of the money to raise the alarm about children being educated in schools where prayers were required, and religious paraphernalia was evident. Only the religions of the left (environmentalism and social justice) could be taught in government-funded schools.

Today, the religion of critical (communist) race theory and anti-American hatred has been incorporated into the mix. This toxic mixture forms the basis of modern American government school pedagogy. Nothing else can be tolerated and will be attacked. Homeschooling, which has grown dramatically due to the pandemic and ensuing lockdowns, is being targeted for elimination by the education vampires.

One example is in a recent article by Dr. Charlotte Allen. She explores the depths of the hatred for homeschooling — and especially Christian homeschooling — that permeates the left. She shared quotes from the Huffington Post that attacked homeschool curriculums for “language used in books that overlaps with the rhetoric of Christian nationalism, often with overtones of nativism, militarism and racism.” Other left-wing provocateurs are even more virulent and broader in their attacks; they blame the “decades-long crusade to deregulate home and private school education” for such phenomena as “QAnon, Covid Denialism and the Capitol riots.”

I remember speaking to the first Home Schooling Conference in Colorado many years ago. It was held in a small church, and there were about 50 parents there. I told them that they were safe because they were too small in number to be thought of as a threat to the government school behemoth but, as their numbers grew, they would face massive opposition and calls for their destruction. A few years ago, I spoke to another such conference, but it was at a huge hotel facility, and there were more than 5,000 in attendance. Such growth has now put a target on the back of the homeschooling movement.

The vampires will come for our kids. There can be no deviation from the agenda designed to enslave the minds of the young so they cannot become adults who might oppose the new world order.

  1. Public education, K-12 through our best universities, is the business of neither federal nor state government. Public education has collapsed intellectually but cannot be replaced as you would replace your home. Historians often say, it’s a long road back. Most children survive America’s terrible system but K-12 plants in them almost indestructible roots. Teachers will tell you breaking away is impossible. Clearly, education is a private matter.

The central problems are acceptance of “public” education and “federal” intrusion. Parents don’t feel they have a financial stake in education. School taxes are blended with property taxes and often are forgotten because they’re mandatory whether or not they have school-aged children. Students will improve when parents feel education is a financial acquisition. And parents will be more engaged when their private money is at stake.

The primary problem with the K-12 segment is it’s a monopoly in a nation where monopoly is considered a criminal enterprise for everyone else. A major flaw is taxpayers, with no children in public schools, have no choice regarding which institution receives their money. I’ve never heard it mentioned that such taxpayers are in a vast majority but the government makes that choice for them. Government money also passes directly to colleges as student loans but they never return any if a student defaults.

Regarding politics, public teaching has been fundamentally transformed into an enormous entitlement, and dispensing entitlements is the heart of the democrat strategy. It cannot be said too many times: the absence of competition is the problem. Political corruption is a byproduct of public education and easy loans have created an unimaginable debt for hopeful, middle class Americans.

Regarding K-12, state governments may immediately start allowing per pupil allocations to be awarded to any accredited institution according to the parents’ choice. Many states have such systems operating under various titles but the principle is privatization. States could use existing accreditation systems or establish their own.

A comprehensive free enterprise education system eliminates the ability to trample one civil right by supporting an opposing civil right. Perhaps more importantly, it precludes indoctrination of students to unwelcome political agendas. Government schools should be allowed to compete with private schools.

The school choice solution is not the teachers’ idea of choice and certainly not the union’s idea. Most know what’s needed is a robust free market filled with all kinds of accredited schools, able to deliver general subjects as well as all kinds of specialties, including athletics and the arts. Bottom line, it’s a very bad idea for any government to educate its children.

  2. The indoctrination of our kids in the public school system would not have been successful if it were not for the extreme laziness of parents who treated schools, not as institutions of learning to prepare their children for careers and adulthood, but rather as a tax-paid entitled babysitting service. Many did not pay attention to what teachers were teaching with, what propaganda were being pumped into their heads, only to be regurgitated back by the kids to confirm that their indoctrination pursuits were successful, because parents did not want to be bothered. This lazy parenting is not just happening in public schools but also at expensive private schools where parents think that because they have handed their money over to these schools, they have done their jobs as far as their children’s education is concerned. I have witnessed this at my children’s private Catholic school. Being a parent who tracks, very closely, what teachers are teaching my children, I also know that some of the so-called educational websites recommended to them, by their teachers, are full of socialist/communist propaganda, where opinions are presented as scientific facts lacking scientific, mathematical, and statistical evidence. I have also had experiences of having to confront teachers about materials that I thought were inappropriate, such showing a video to a fourth grade class about BLM to teach about love, tolerance, and equality. Unfortunately, less than half a dozen parents confronted the teacher about this, most likely because most of these families do not sit down to a family dinner nightly to discuss the day’s events with their children because they choose not to do so. The evidence of lazy parenting is everywhere. Look around the next time you are in a restaurant with families with kids. How many of these kids are staring at their iPads, some with headphones on to shut out the noise, while these parents carry on with each other as if their kids are invisible. Of course, I am also assuming that the parents are not staring intently at their electronic devices, as if there is nothing and no one more important around.

I should note that I lived under communism as a child and escaped to the U.S as a legal immigrant. I have also had acquaintances who lived in communist and post-communist Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Anyone who studies the history of communist countries can clearly see the direction in which our country is headed. America is my home, and I love with all of my heart, for all of the opportunities it has afforded me as long as I am willing to work hard. I love the foundation on which this country was built and the visions of our ingenious forefathers. However, seeing how easy it has been for the left (communists) to indoctrinate the young through old frightens me, and I ask myself, “Where else in the world can I escape to when too many Americans let our country fall into communist hands?”

    1. Most parents are so dang exhausted after working all day, and then they have their household duties to deal with, clothes to wash, dinners to fix, and helping their kids with ridiculous homework DESIGNED to keep both kid and parent confused- Parents are Not lazy- and your attack, blaming the parent, when in fact, it is Not the parents fault that the teacher’s unions were taken over- good teachers will tell you that they have zero control about what they are allowed to teach. This communist agenda had been clearly stated (that they would take over our schools) was published in the 1963 Congressional Record. But you probably did not read that. You can find it here: http://rense.com/general32/americ.htm

After you read this document, ask yourself just how much of this has already happened.

Often, the schools have an lop-sided ‘advantage’ over the parent when parents question what is going on. I personally was confronted with an 8 person ‘panel of EXPERTS’ when I confronted them about why my daughter was no longer able to read (age 7) when she had been an avid reader since age 2. It was a good thing that I was well educated and able to handle the onslaught they threw at me. THIS is why most parents do not confront schools- Usually, the first time they do, they are then scheduled for a meeting- which is deliberately set up when they have to work (causing them to take time off), and then they are outnumbered by those who profess to be ‘experts’, and these meetings are aggressively confrontational, claiming that the problem is clearly in the home, and never the fault of their brain-washing techniques used to push their communist agenda.
I see that this situation has worsened over the years. Parents feel there is no point in arguing with them, as it will be the parent who is to blame. This is a tactic deliberately used to keep parents away.
As a parent whose child is in Catholic School, surely you have noticed the push to do away with religious schools…no?
It is not a matter of ‘where can I escape to…’ It is a matter of taking back our right to educate our children, rather than have them indoctrinated. It is a matter of standing up for the things that are right and good, and booting OUT these masters of deception! It is a matter of making this country the best the world has ever seen by upholding our God-given rights, standing behind our Constitution, and firmly holding onto our beliefs.
The communists have been at work on this agenda for nearly 100 years. They infiltrated just like they brazenly stated they would, and the communist goals were not recorded until 30 years after they infiltrated. Communism is alive & well and is hiding under the guise of socialism. It must be squashed. There is no one going to save us from this poisonous agenda. WE are out own saviour on this front.
Yes, we are partially to blame for this happening only because we were unaware that these communists wanted to take over our country. Most thought communism was conquered back in the 50’s. Today, we see they were not;they were working behind the scenes, little by little gnawing away at every sector, especially that of ‘educating’ our children. Time to undo their cobweb, and un-brainwash our young.
No one is going to do this EXCEPT us. Parents are not lazy; in fact, many found out what was going on in the schools thanks to the lockdowns, and many pulled their kids out and are homeschooling or, if they can afford it, are using better options. It IS up to us to correct this ill, make no mistake. And we can do it- we just need to act now.

  3. Great article. Spot on! People need to see past the confusion to the clarity of what is really happening. Too many issues; too few solutions.

  4. What TDang says is certainly true, but as a concerned parent it is most difficult to wring a straight answer out of a small child. At the dinner table you ask them point blank: ‘What did you learn at school today?’ Replies range from ‘Nothing’ to ‘I don’t know’ to ‘I can’t remember.’ A parent must apply the thumbscrews on the rack to wrench an answer out of a kid. Seriously, sarcasm aside, children commonly erect a mental block to parental inquisition once the school hours are over. It takes a few inquisitions to divine what the schools are teaching. I’m just sayin’…….

    1. Many are taught in school not to share what happens in school with their parents….it is one of the ways they gain control over the kids (by making the parent ‘the bad guy’). Read :
      http://rense.com/general32/americ.htm

Then you will see what is going on, and why, and notice how long it has been going on in the schools… We can stop it, but first one has to be fully aware of what is going on.

  5. Congressional Record 1963
Webmaster Forest Glen Durland located a document quoted in the book mentioned below at a library. The document is now over half a century old. He lists his sources as:
Microfilm: California State University at San Jose Clark Library, Government Floor Phone (408)924-2770 Microfilm Call Number: J 11.R5
    Congressional Record, Vol. 109 88th Congress, 1st Session Appendix Pages A1-A2842 Jan. 9-May 7, 1963 Reel 12
Please PAY ATTENTION to how much of this agenda has already been pushed into our lives.
The following is an excerpt from the book written by Cleon Skousen, outlining 45 goals which found their way into the halls of the United States Capitol in 1963, and are now part of the Congressional Record (see details following). These are the listed goals :
    1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
    2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
    3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
    4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
    5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
    6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
    7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
    8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
    9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
    10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
    11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
    12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
    13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
    14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
    15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
    16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
    17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
    18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
    19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
    20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
    21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
    22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
    23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
    24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
    25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
    27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
    28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
    29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
    30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
    31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
    32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
    33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
    34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
    35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
    36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
    37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
    38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
    39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
    40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
    41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
    42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.
    43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
    44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
    45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Further investigation will turn up dates in the early 1940’s. So for over a half a century, we have been duped into thinking we are making independent choices, when, in fact, most of the choices we have made- multiculturalism, trade and commerce, toleration of sexual deviation, etc. – was ALL part of a plan to MAKE us turn our backs on liberty and freedom and accept a COMMUNISTIC ONE-WORLD GOVERNMENT!
The ultimate plan will undo all these false securities they have set into motion, so NO, things will NOT be better if we keep accepting these forced changes.
And they are forced changes. Any time one is scammed, they are forced by manipulation and trickery into doing something that is not in their best interest. They are deceived, defrauded, swindled. Cheated.
