Boulder, CO — United States Representative Lauren Boebert says gun laws already failed us in the wake of the senseless Boulder King Soopers shooting.
In an interview with Newsmax, Boebert explained that Colorado already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. She said, “Unfortunately, our state is showing these gun laws do not work. Chicago is showing that gun laws do not work. Every time something like this happens, there are more kneejerk reactions to legislate law-abiding citizens and restrict them from defending themselves.”
Boebert continued on to describe how Officer Eric Talley is a hero for running into King Soopers to save defenseless civilians.
Talley is a hero, but Democrats want to make sure that law-abiding citizens have no way to defend themselves when officers like Talley are not around.
In response to Democrat’s calls for new gun control laws, Boebert tweeted a list of strict gun-control laws already in place in Colorado.
Gun control laws already in Colorado:
- universal background checks
- a red flag gun control law
- large capacity magazine bans
- domestic violence gun laws
- an extended background check period
- state database background checks
- gun-free zones
None of the laws in place in Colorado stopped a sick man from committing murder. More restrictive gun laws will not change that.
Killers do not follow the law.

President Biden and the left keep saying they want ‘common sense’ gun control legislation. Okay, let’s talk some Common Sense about what has been tried, what has worked and what has not worked.
Gun bans and restrictions, high capacity magazine bans and other restrictions have been tried in several major cities and states all to no avail. The cities and states with the most restrictive gun laws are the cities and states with the highest gun violence rates while those with Constitutional Carry laws are much safer.
Tell me again how focusing on the gun rather than the perpetrator is ‘common sense’ gun violence prevention.
Now this is how a congressional member should sound!
I live 12 miles from Boulder and I’m sorry I wasn’t at the King Soopers that day. I am an open carrier of firearms.
Barring that I may have been among the first killed, I MAY have been able to engage this man and, at a minimum, distract him from his evil task.
I’m not saying that I would, or would not, have prevailed. In a gunfight there are only two factors which determine the outcome – skill or plain dumb luck.
As i stated, I would have been a nuisance and a distraction but not necessarily the victor. In either case, innocent people would have been able to escape.
Unfortunately I wasn’t there and neither were any other firearms carriers so the people in that store were totally defenseless.

American Colonists were able to overthrow the tyranny of King George, III because they had guns, as many were armed hunters. Unfortunately, Leftists want to confiscate our guns and leave us defenseless against their form of tyranny.

Adolf Hitler disarmed the German populace and then murdered millions of them.
Since Democrats claim to be the compassionate party, isn’t it time for them to show a little compassion for the MILLIONS of people disarmed and then murdered by their own governments?

She’s right ! Our vast array of restrictive gun control laws failed to make a dent in the killer’s plans. And to top it off, this Muslim, ISIS sympathizer was on the FBI’s radar and was still able to buy a gun. Did the FBI turn a blind eye in order to advance the DemocRAT’s push for more gun control ? We may never know. What we do Know though, is that the laws we now have didn’t work and more like them won’t work either.
