
Washington, D.C. – Over 95 percent of readers want K-12 schools open to in-person learning, according to our latest quick poll. This is not a surprise.
Parents across the country say that virtual learning is failing students. Of course, there are more reasons to consider keeping schools open than just the quality of education.
The CDC consistently states that schools are the safest place for children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CDC said this at the beginning of the pandemic, and they now have data to prove it.
Despite this guidance, governments across the country are forcibly closing school districts.
Mayor Bill de Blasio closed New York City schools. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear shut down every school in the state this week. Governor Gretchen Whitmer recently shuttered schools in Michigan, and the list goes on.
Some closures are targeted, while others include both public and private schools across the board.
