Hong Kong, Hong Kong – Freedom of Speech has no Chinese translation. Sure, no one on staff speaks Chinese; however, how China treats its critics, it is pretty clear we’re right. China’s crackdown should be a reminder of how good we have it here with the Bill of Rights. This should also serve as a reminder of how important the 2020 election is.
Jimmy Lai, owner of a major daily News Publication in Hong Kong, The Apple Daily, was arrested by Chinese authorities. He was arrested under China’s new “National Security” law. As we read it, this law, by design, is meant to crack down on critics and dissenters to the ruling Chinese Communist Government.

This is China’s codified version of the “Cancel Culture” in the United States. We’re making a joke here, but this joke isn’t totally funny or untrue. The communists in both China and here in the U.S. don’t like dissent or free-thinking individuals. Here is Reuters’ assessment of the law:
The security law punishes anything China considers subversion, secession, terrorism and collusion with foreign forces with up to life in prison. Critics say it crushes freedoms, while supporters say it will bring stability after prolonged anti-China, pro-democracy protests last year.

Free-thinking promotes freedom, and that is dangerous to control by the state. China hasn’t changed much since the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989. You remember when the student sat in front of the tank in protest of China’s policies.

But back to Jimmy Lai’s arrest. What would happen if Trump did this to the Board of Directors of the New York Times? Although many of us would briefly laugh, as Americans, we know this is not what we stand for. However, the press would have a field day with this.

The arrest “bears out the worst fears that Hong Kong’s national security law would be used to suppress critical pro-democracy opinion and restrict press freedom”, said Steven Butler, the Committee to Protect Journalists’ Asia programme coordinator.

Yes, this is bad. We can’t let this happen in America. We know the Cancel Culture of the left is on the warpath to silence average Americans and especially conservatives.

every day free speech, our 1 st amendment rights are under attack, from the liberal/socialist, media, and those that have the ownership of social media platforms. There are so many word, normal words, words people would not even think, are being flag to control the content of what is said, posted, and any one using these platforms are, or will be warned, it is about control, it is about controlling elections, it is about suppression of history, conservative views, still part of obama’s change for America, carried on by his disciples in many nefarious ways. The sad part is that most people are clue less, and if you bring the subject up you will be vilified, attacked, any thing to shut you up. So what will people, if any thing to stop this.
