Tallahassee, FL — A Florida Democrat says she refuses to lower flags to half-staff in honor of Rush Limbaugh after Governor Ron DeSantis issued the order Friday.
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried gave this statement.
“Lowering to half-staff the flag of the United States of America is a sacred honor that pays respect to fallen heroes and patriots. It is not a partisan political tool. Therefore, I will notify all state offices under my direction to disregard the Governor’s forthcoming order to lower flags for Mr. Limbaugh – because we will not celebrate hate speech, bigotry, and division. Lowering the flag should always reflect unity, not division, and raising our standards, not lowering them. Our flags will remain flying high to celebrate the American values of diversity, inclusion, and respect for all.”

Limbaugh is the definition of an American patriot. He stood for freedom and opportunity for every citizen of the United States.
If Fried believes those values do not represent unity and diversity, perhaps she should take time to reflect on her own values and partisan actions.
Limbaugh lived in Florida and passed away Wednesday after battling lung cancer. He hosted the most successful show on talk radio and is credited with reviving the talk radio industry.

Nikki Fried intends to run against DeSantis for Governor. She will always do the exact opposite of what he does. Thank goodness Gillum wasn’t in charge for this pandemic mess. Fried somehow was elected to her position in Florida by the people. But like any other Democrat she said anything to get elected. I wonder how many other partisan decisions she has made during her term? Hopefully the memory of Floridians will still be fresh by Election Day.
In her second sentence, Fried says (correctly) “It is not a partisan political tool.” Then in the very next sentence, she MAKES it a partisan political tool by refusing to follow the order because SHE doesn’t agree with it. The Left just doesn’t understand the stupidity of their own arguments. They are blinded to everything that doesn’t fit their agenda.

Sure, Nikki Fried. Why bestow any honor or respect on a guy like Rush Limbaugh? He was only one of the greatest Patriots in America. He even won a medal. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the president of the United States to recognize people who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.” The Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal are the highest civilian awards of the United States.
