Atlanta, GA — The family of an 8-year-old killed by a mob in Atlanta, Georgia, during BLM protests last summer is suing the city and city officials.
The parents of Secoriea Turner are suing “the city of Atlanta, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta police chief Rodney Bryant, Atlanta city councilmember Joyce Sheperd and Wendy’s International,” according to Fox5.
In June of 2020, protesters took over the Wendy’s and illegally barricaded streets where Rayshard Brooks was shot by police officers.
On July 4, when the Turner family attempted to navigate through the barricade, they were confronted by armed protesters. At least two protesters then opened fire on the vehicle, striking Secoriea Turner. She reportedly died at Atlanta Medical Center after being treated for her wounds.
Attorneys for the family say that the city and police failed to maintain order and allowed armed civilians to illegally take over city streets. They said the city was negligent about maintaining peace, and the illegal barricade prevented the Turner family from returning home safely.
19-year-old Julian Conley is accused of participating in the shooting and faces a felony murder charge.
Police have failed to find or charge anyone else involved in the shooting, despite reports stating that there was more than one gunman.
While it was reported on, mainstream media outlets quickly moved past the shooting of Secoriea Turner because it completely undermined the anti-police narrative.
Protesters at the “mostly peaceful” protest for Rayshard Brooks burned down the Wendy’s at the scene and shot an 8-year-old child.
The family can never be made whole again, but hopefully, they can find justice for the murder of Secoriea Turner.

Every single member, the mayor, the police chief and council member Sheperd should be thrown into jail. I hope the Turner family is successful in its court action against the city. Maybe if you hurt them in the pocket book, tax-paying citizens will begin to respond and take action against these BLM and Anitfa criminals.
They need to be suing the perpetrators ( BLM organization). They are flush with money and the obvious killers!
So why are they suing Wendy’s. Wendy’s didn’t do the shooting or do the rioting and once this family saw the barricade why did they insist on going through it instead of going another route to get home. And if their home was like next door to Wendy’s and the rioters were at Wendy’s why in God’s name would they insist of going home right then. Go to a relative’s home or friends or hotel. That would be the day I would try getting through a barricade set by the police or the criminals with a bunch of killers around. I see an accident ahead I decide can I get past the accident normal time or should I circle around so I don’t waste an hour trying to get past the accident. Generally the police and/or firemen will direct you what to do but when I see a barricade that means stop and turn around and run. I live on a curve and there are always accidents including one death, one roll over, the whole curve shut down with my house right there. I have parked my car down the street and walked to my house but that an accident not a barricade with a riot with criminals involved in the riot.
Why are the parents not going after BLM? Could be they are afraid of the RIOTERS, the law breakers and general thugs? People bitch about the cops when they do their duty but bitch when they can’t because of shear numbers. Defunding will only make this and other crimes more recurring in our country. They talk about woke, well wake the hell up, and fund the officers who protect us with their lives. Cops will kill anyone who is running from them, you don’t have to be black, white, red or yellow. The first duty of any officer is for he or she to return home each night. If you do something stupid, then you run, you could end up shot. I pray for this family and every family who has lost love ones. We need to heal and come together but with this President it is not going to happen. Biden and Harris are to weak and bend with whatever is trending today.
