Washington, D.C. — President Biden released a statement on Sunday, renewing calls for Congress to pass gun control measures. Sunday was the 3rd anniversary of the tragedy in Parkland, Florida.
Rahm Emmanuel, the former Chief of Staff for Barack Obama, once said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”
President Biden seems to have taken that advice to heart, as he is using the Parkland tragedy to justify his end policy goals of more gun control.
It was reported last week that Biden was meeting with members of major gun control groups such as Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action.
In a statement from Moms Demand Action, founder Shannon Watts said, “Gun safety was a cornerstone of President Biden’s campaign, and this meeting confirmed that gun safety is a top priority for the Biden administration as well.”
“Gun safety” in this instance is used interchangeably with gun control, although common gun control proposals have no proven effect on violence.
Watts continued, “with Covid making gun violence worse and armed extremists literally holding our democracy at gunpoint, the time for action is now –– and we fully expect to see it soon.”
In Biden’s February 14 statement, he said, “I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.”
Nothing in the statement is new information, though. Biden promised gun control on the campaign trail too. However, this most recent statement did not mention his proposal for a gun tax.
Biden did not do much for specifics in his proposal, instead opting to punt to Congress.
For example, he did not opt to define “assault weapon” or “high-capacity.”
Previous remarks from Biden suggest his “assault weapon” ban would likely include most semi-automatic firearms such as the Left’s boogeyman, the AR-15.
As far as “high capacity” goes, Biden has previously drawn the line at 10 round magazines, even though this is often considered to be below standard capacity for most modern firearms.
No bills have been filed yet in either the House or the Senate to address the President’s call to action, but neither chamber is under any immediate time crunch.
Whether any of these proposals will gain any steam remains to be seen. Democrat majorities are slim in both chambers, and Democrat splits would be detrimental to the passage of any of these proposals.

The only one’s who don’t know who staged everything at the Capital on Jan. 6th

Those wanting to “storm”the Capital were already there, on the stairs, waiting to start their “staged attack”. Doesn’t anyone smell the rats in this attack on the Capital, I did, and do still.
Let’s see, “pipe bombs” found, talk of weapons has been mentioned over and over by the media, yet we only know of the security’s weapons, sadly, one killed a protester.
Bottom-line, if you can’t give us something close to the truth, then please stop giving us all this “BS”……
Biden has no control of anything. He’s a puppet in the White House who is brain damaged. Anyone who’s had a family member in a Brain Trauma Unit can see this.
