Boulder, CO — Fallen Boulder police officer, Eric Talley, would be “deeply offended” by people politicizing his death to pass gun control, his father said.
“My son would have been deeply offended to know his death would be used to promote gun control. Before he was an officer, he enjoyed shooting,” Homer Talley told TMZ.
According to Eric’s father, the officer was a strong supporter of gun rights and the Second Amendment. Mr. Talley said Eric owned an AR-15 and that he does not blame access to the firearm for his son’s death. He called the cowardly act that cost Officer Talley his life “a senseless act and that is just it. The situation [Eric] found himself in wasn’t one that the government could protect him from.”
Instead, Democrats around the country, including President Joe Biden, are pushing for an outright ban on so-called “assault weapons.” These politicians and political operatives do not care about the wishes of the shooting victims or their families. All they care about is moving their agenda forward, and that includes eliminating gun rights.
Politicians and talking heads in the liberal media are practically dancing on the graves of these victims in their excitement to abuse this tragedy to restrict gun rights.

The question is why and who authorized this information be put aside, disregarded? Again we as citizens were let down, not protected by those responsible, who took an oath to so, to protect citizens from enemies both foreign and domestic. Then to add insult to all the injuries, murders, we have gun free zones, where the citizens are not allowed to protect them selves if they wanted to. Why do those who are elected want citizens to be targets to be injured, or murdered by passing stupid laws that make citizens vulnerable, why, why? Those who create the situations where citizens are targets, need to be held accountable, explain why they created an opportunist environment for mad men/women to murder. My sympathies to the family of Officer Eric Talley. Thanks for his bravery and courage under fire. A father mourning his son. Homer wanting to speak for his son. Instead of media twisting and like he says using his death to further democrats agenda. If anyone knows of a go fund me for his wife and 7 children I would appreciate it. God bless them. Also we all need to demand to know what FBI and others knew about this murderer.
They have been bemoaning the fact that a judge found the Boulder law to be a violation of state law. Even if that law remained in place it would have done NOTHING to prevent, or even mitigate, this shooting. The law was nothing but hollow words written on worthless paper in search of a problem that doesn’t exist.
President Biden and the left keep saying they want ‘common sense’ gun control legislation. Okay, let’s talk some Common Sense about what has been tried, what has worked and what has not worked.
Gun bans and restrictions, high capacity magazine bans and other restrictions have been tried in several major cities and states all to no avail. The cities and states with the most restrictive gun laws are the cities and states with the highest gun violence rates while those with Constitutional Carry laws are much safer.
Tell me again how focusing on the gun rather than the perpetrator is ‘common sense’ gun violence prevention.
