Oslo, Norway — The Black Lives Matter movement was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for their role in bringing awareness to “systemic racism.”
Norwegian MP Petter Eide, a member of the Socialist Left Party in Norway, filed the nomination papers.
Eide dismissed accusations that events organized by Black Lives Matter turned violent but blamed former President Donald Trump for the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol Building.
In reference to the many incidents of violence arising from BLM organized events, Eide said, “Of course there have been incidents, but most of them have been caused by the activities of either the police or counter-protestors.”
Eide’s simple dismissal ignores the fact that multiple BLM organizers have been charged with felonies for their roles in protests they organized. Six protesters, including BLM organizers, were arrested and charged with felonies in Colorado related to a riot where BLM activists surrounded a police precinct and trapped 18 officers inside over the summer.
In September, a Des Moines, Iowa BLM organizer was charged with not one but nine felony counts of “assault with intent to injure a police officer.” In June, the same man, Matthew Bruce, turned himself in on criminal mischief charges related to the vandalism of a police squad car.
In the Norwegian socialist’s mind, BLM cannot shoulder any of the blame for the organizers and people that attended their rallies, looted and burned businesses, and even assaulted police officers. Yet, Trump, a single man, is to blame for everything that occurred on Jan. 6.
In true socialist fashion, Eide wants to have his cake and eat it too.
