Sheeple, the Thought Police, and Kobe Bryant

San Dimas, CA – Very rarely, if ever, is it okay to celebrate the death of someone. We should mourn the loss of life in the helicopter crash that killed basketball star Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter. That indeed was a tragedy along with the other people who died in the crash.

Kobe was one of the best players in NBA history, and he has the stats to prove that. This created his celebrity status that people seem to celebrate. But at what expense?

As we trolled the news and social media, about 95 percent of it was very flattering to Kobe. Four percent was just complimentary. Less than one percent covered something only fame, money, and power can overcome – the alleged rape Kobe committed in the mountains of Colorado in 2003. Kobe was able to buy his way out of that one and remained out of jail. It must be nice to have money and fame.

It was disturbing that either most people didn’t know about the alleged rape Kobe committed or just glossed over it. It seemed that everyone followed the trend of ignoring Kobe’s indiscretions, like sheeple. We see this on a lot of issues, and with people on the right and on the left.

This is also evidenced by almost 3 million people signing a petition to put Kobe on the NBA logo.

What disturbs us here at America’s Citizen Press, is how the though police treat people that pointed out Kobe’s alleged rape. The Washington Post, maybe only second to the New York Times as the premier daily liberal megaphone, suspended one of its reporters for tweeting a reminder about Kobe’s alleged rape. The reporter’s name was Felicia Sonmez.

In our opinion, she was doing her job (for a change). That was news, and it still is. Just because someone dies, their alleged indiscretions don’t disappear.

With the left pushing the #MeToo Movement, it is extraordinarily hypocritical (again) that they would punish someone for doing their job.

In fact, a lot of what we read in the lamestream media these days simply is not based on facts or reality. There is a “hut and run” mentality in the media with little accountability. Was anyone suspended after the Sandmann debacle at CNN? What about the media’s unfair daily persecution of President Trump? No suspension there either.

The hypocrisy of the left should come as no surprise. We see it every day, and we will report on it.

Don’t be sheeple, think for yourself. Exercise your 1st Amendment rights.
