Miami, FL – If you haven’t completely boycotted the NFL by now, our guess is you may have watched the Super Bowl last Sunday. We’re not going to talk about the bad calls that may have tipped the game towards one team. However, we will talk about the politics of the Super Bowl.

Jay-Z and Beyonce sat during the National Anthem. Please stop supporting them by listening to their music, acts they promote, and people with whom they collaborate. Let their behavior be punished by hitting them in the pocketbook.

In case you missed them, both President Trump and former New York City Mayor and Billionaire Michael Bloomberg ran Super Bowl TV ads. This is historic because we here in the newsroom can’t remember when a sitting President and a challenger both bought this expensive ad space.

What we found delightful, especially with the Trump ad, is the content. Trump decided to talk about social justice. He is not conceding this issue to the Democrats. It’s also poking the bear because they’ve been calling him a “racist” for the past four years.

Those of us on staff here who attended Super Bowl parties watched with glee as our liberal friend’s heads collectively exploded on viewing the ad. Kudos to our President.

Now on to the Bloomberg ad. Bloomberg has been spending a lot of his billions on advertising. This is America; it’s a free country; he can waste his money on whatever he wants.

We aren’t going to post the Bloomberg ad, because we don’t want to contribute to any of his website traffic.

Bloomberg offered a stark contrast by focusing his ad on his efforts to ban firearms. He’s been spending hundreds of millions on this for about a decade, and he is the enemy of gun owners everywhere.

We believe the Bloomberg ad energized gun owners to activate early in this election. He poked the bear, like Trump, but the bear Bloomberg poked is well armed and well organized.

If you want to keep score here, we would say Trump 1, Democrats 0.

Winning is good, can we expect good things in 2020?
