Chicago, IL – Liberal cities and looting, that is the new normal. These population centers keep on electing the same liberal leadership, and their cities continue to decline. Now it is not just economic decline and an increase in crime; cities are actually burning an being looted almost daily.
Let’s start with Chicago. We wrote about Chicago a few weeks ago in an article titled “Black Lives Matter Except When the Don’t.” That article talked about all of the violence in the black community in Chicago (after one of their deadliest weekends on record), that had nothing to do with the police. We felt that the Black Lives Matter focuses on things that don’t matter or make an impact.
Well, Chicago is back in the news. There was an officer-involved shooting that caused a riot. The man who was shot by police had a gun and fired on officers. The man is also in stable condition at the hospital.

Hundreds of people swept through streets of Chicago overnight, injuring police officers, smashing store windows, and looting and damaging property after police officers shot a man they say was armed, officials said…More than 100 people were arrested and 13 officers were injured, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said Monday morning at a news conference…”This wasn’t an organized protest. It was an incident of pure criminality,” Brown said. “Criminals took to streets with confidence that there would be no consequences for their actions. I refuse to let these cowardly acts hold our city hostage.”

Liberal cities and looting, that is the new normal.
Criminals are not fearing consequences. This is becoming the new normal with the defunding of police and the general attitude of the criminal public. Even the uber-liberal Chicago mayor didn’t side with the rioters:
Mayor Lori Lightfoot also called the actions criminal…”We are waking up in shock this morning,” Lightfoot said Monday. “This had nothing to do with protected First Amendment expression. … This was abject criminal behavior. …This is straight up felony criminal conduct.”

Lightfoot may finally be “woke” but in the right way. We won’t hold our breath, but this is a start. What is interesting here is the use of social media by criminal agitators under the guise of “protest.” More from NBC News:
Brown said “tempers flared, fueled by misinformation” about the shooting. Police started noticing social media posts encouraging looting and were then called to reports of a mob scene at about 12:20 a.m., he said.

Yeah, misinformation from the criminal left to burn and loot their own liberal city. Clearly, people are just looking for a reason, false or otherwise, to start these riots. Even left-supporting unions aren’t exempt from the rioting. The Portland, Oregon Police Union offices were torched as well over the weekend.

Police said a group from Peninsula Park marched to the Portland Police Association building, which is located about 5 miles (8 kilometers) north of the federal courthouse that had been the target of nightly violence earlier this summer. The Portland Police Association is a labor union that represents members of the Portland Police Bureau.

Some of you reading this may be thinking, “good, the libs are eating their own!” Well, careful what you wish for, many of these “protests” are coming to a conservative community near you.
Liberal cities and looting, that is the new normal. Maybe people will wake up and realize this liberal policy non-sense is just that, non-sense. Again, we aren’t holding our breath on this one.
