In a speech on Tuesday, President Joe Biden called on Congress to pass a so-called “assault weapons” ban, along with two gun bills currently under consideration in the U.S. Senate.

These laws banning “Assault weapons” only hurt legal law abiding citizens. Criminals don’t do background checks. We have plenty of laws on the books. We need to prosecute the criminals in federal court for using stolen guns that are committing crimes.

All any ban will do is put a burden on the American people plus violate the Constitution. Without exception most people who use guns in violence get the guns illegally.
History tells us if you want to take over a country, take away their legally own guns. Just look at Germany and Venezuela.
These new laws will do nothing to stop gun violence, take the dam criminals, that are causing all the murders, and shootings off the streets, double their sentence when guns are used. U don’t even use the laws on the books, so u sure don’t need new ones. U can’t buy a gun without a background check. already on the books,u don’t need another of the same. There aren’t no weapons of war on the street, weapons of war are automatic weapons,none are legal without a special permit, none on the streets. People pushing for assualt weapons ban don’t know what there talking about,just making up propaganda, on common used favorite, rifles that been out for 60+years. Probably 40+ million AR type rifles, that millions of people enjoy, without committing crimes with them. Go after the criminals committing the crime and leave us law abiding citizens alone.
The congress needs to follow the constitution as written and stop trying to change it.
There is no such thing as an assault weapon. Assault Weapon is a dog whistle created by the Democrat Marxist Criminal Organization and it’s Lame Stream Propaganda Minions. Also there are no weapons of war on the streets in civilian hands. Thomas Jefferson said, infringing upon the citizens ownership and possession only emboldens criminals and puts civilians highly at risk of being victims of criminal violence. EXACTLY, what are these “assault weapons” that some would restrict/ban, perhaps burn at the stake? How come those who would restrict and and or ban them are either unable and or unwilling to precisely define them.
