Biden Sworn in as 46th President

Washington, D.C. — Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States by Chief Justice John Roberts today.

Likewise, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor administered the oath of office for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama attended the inauguration. However, now former President Donald Trump did not attend, though he maintained the tradition of writing a private letter to the next president.

There are approximately 17 executive orders prepared for Biden to sign this afternoon. Many of them are aimed at rolling back policies put in place by the Trump administration.

The orders encompass everything from climate change to a 100-day mask mandate.

Today, Biden is also expected to end the presidential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. The move threatens U.S. energy independence and will cost jobs in both the U.S. and Canada.

Today’s executive orders will kick off a blitz by Biden’s administration to advance a progressive agenda through executive order despite a Democrat majority in Congress.
