Washington, D.C. — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao, are financially tied to China through Chao’s business.
Peter Schweizer of Breitbart News detailed the ties on Fox News.
Chao’s family owns a shipbuilding company. In December of 1993, the Chinese state shipbuilding company invited McConnell, Chao, and Chao’s father, James Chao, to Beijing.
According to Schweizer, China now pays to build the ships, fund the crew, and even provides the cargo for Chao’s company.
Now, no business happens in China without the support of the Chinese Communist Party. That means the CCP can end the contract with Chao’s company.
As a direct beneficiary of the company, this puts McConnell in a compromised position when it comes to policy on China. Schweizer cited McConnell’s softening position on China over the years as evidence of this relationship.
He further claimed that forming commercial deals with people in positions of power is a common practice of China.
“They seek out political elites and give them commercial deals,” Schweizer stated.
From Breitbart News
“They are wedded to the Chinese,” he added. “They don’t want to anger the Chinese because they could destroy their families financially.”
McConnell has served as a United States Senator since 1985.

The Democrats have pandered to China
for a long time. During Bill Clinton’s reelection campaign it was discovered
Bill and Hillary accepted donations from
China. They seemed offended when forced
to give it back. Bill made a deal to sell
Cray supercomputers to China against
recommendations. The computers significantly advanced China’s missile
program and other technologies. The
effects of selling (or giving) the computers
is my opinion, transferring the computers
is not. Now Hunter Biden is involved.
I have no doubt research could in cover
