Pelosi Sending Impeachment Article to Senate on Monday

Washington, D.C. — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the House is sending the article of impeachment against Donald Trump to the Senate on Monday.

The article of impeachment is for “incitement of insurrection.” The Monday deadlines means Senate rules require the trial to begin on Tuesday at 1:00 pm.

However, there are rumblings that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell might reach an agreement to postpone the beginning of the trial.

It is unclear how postponing the trial would be possible.

If the trial does begin on Tuesday, it will interrupt the confirmation of President Joe Biden’s cabinet picks. The Senate is currently working through the confirmation process for Biden’s picks, but has only confirmed two so far.

Secretary of Defense Retired Gen. Lloyd Austin and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines are the two confirmed by the Senate. In the meantime, acting officials named by Biden will lead federal agencies.

Stay tuned for more.

  1. I have seen a couple of photos of Pelosi and Trump. Seems to me that in both pictures, Pelosi is looking at Trump like she would like a date, and he is looking nonchalant. Is this why she keeps impeaching him, because he rejected her?
