Allen West, National Association for Gun Rights, and Texas Gun Rights form Coalition to Pass Constitutional Carry in Texas

Austin, TX Texas GOP Chairman Allen West and the National Association for Gun Rights have officially teamed up to help Texas become the 21st Constitutional Carry state in the nation. Texas Gun Rights, an official affiliate group of the National Association for Gun Rights, is leading the ground game in Texas and actively lobbying the Texas Legislature.

“It’s my sincere pleasure to work with Allen West and Chris McNutt – lobbying the Texas Legislature and mobilizing thousands of pro-gun Texans to make sure the Lone Star state becomes the 21st Constitutional Carry state in 2021. Passing Constitutional Carry is the standard, and Texas must get on board,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.

Constitutional Carry is the most popular gun rights legislation in America, and HB 1927 faces one last test in the state senate before reaching Governor Greg Abbot’s desk. If passed, Constitutional Carry will allow honest, law-abiding citizens the right to carry firearms without having to beg the government for permission.

“There’s no good reason Texas hasn’t passed Constitutional Carry into law – we’re lagging behind a lot of other states. But I know Chris McNutt and Dudley Brown, and working with NAGR and TXGR is the key to restoring firearms freedom in Texas. But of course, squishes in the legislature are M.I.A, and even worse, Abbott and Patrick are actively running away from this legislation. You’d think they’d be proud to whip the legislature and get it done.” said Allen West.

The Texas Senate can take up HB 1927 at any moment, and some gun rights activists believe a vote could happen as soon as Monday or Tuesday.

The National Association for Gun Rights and Texas Gun Rights have worked in Texas for nearly a decade, opposing gun control and lobbying the legislature to pass Constitutional Carry.

“As a Texan, I pride myself on being 100% pro-gun, and as the Executive Director of TXGR, repealing the taxes and fees associated with carrying handguns is a no-brainer. No one should be forced to pay the government to exercise their God-given right to keep and bear arms. HB 1927 must be passed into law unless Texas wants to be left in the dust on the gun rights issue,” concluded Chris McNutt.

West, Brown, and McNutt are urging Texas Legislators to not waste time in passing Constitutional Carry into law.

  1. I have my carry permit for both open and concealed carry in my wallet – I typed a copy of the 2nd Amendment, folded it and put it in my wallet. This should be good for court challenges all the way to the SCOTUS.

    1. We’ve had it for years in AZ and I’m very surprised Texas, supposedly the gun rights capital of the US, does not. I think Illinoisans and Californians migrating there by the millions are ruining Texas and it will never come back.
