Washington, D.C. — A large majority of Democrats think healthy people should remain at home due to COVID-19 “as much as possible.”
According to a Gallup survey, a whopping 71 percent of Democrats “believe people should stay home as much as possible.” Gallup notes that number is down from 85 percent in April.
In contrast, 87 percent of Republicans and 64 percent of independents believe people “should strive to lead their normal lives.”
This poll underscores the chasm separating the right and the left in the United States.
On the right (and in the center), people are ready to return to normal. Cases remain low across the country, and they are tired of living in fear of a virus that is under control.
On the other end of the spectrum, Democrats want to see people locked up in their homes, scrubbing their groceries with disinfectant, and wearing two or even three masks just to be safe.
These results are not necessarily surprising. While red states increasingly reopened their economies and ended COVID-19 restrictions on people and businesses, blue states kept their people on lockdown.
This becomes obvious when comparing the unemployment numbers of red states and blue states.
For instance, Democrat-controlled California’s April 2021 seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 8.3. In New York, it is 8.2. However, in Florida, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 4.8.
If 71 percent of Democrats are actually still too scared to leave their house, the unemployment rates in California and New York are not going to improve very quickly.
The liberal media is not doing their Democrat-leaning audience any favors.
CNN continues to produce fear-mongering panic porn that COVID-19 is still a major threat, even as we move into the summer with over 42 percent of the population vaccinated. That 42 percent does not include the people who contracted and recovered from COVID-19 who now have natural immunity.
In fact, a recent study showed that there is no noticeable difference in the reinfection rate of people who received a COVID-19 vaccine and people who recovered from the illness — but CNN would never print that. As a result, people who tend only to consume liberal media are still living in fear of COVID-19.
The majority of people in the United States are ready to move on with their lives in spite of these Democrats who refuse to see past their partisan politics or listen to the evolving science because they feel safer in their echo chamber.

I had heard that if you have several issues that you are calling your senators and representatives about, that you should address one issue per call, letter, or email. They do not get a clear message if you bundle issues all together. I, for one, will be contacting my senators and representative today to address all of these issues today.
