Joe Biden Chooses Kamala Harris for His Running Mate

San Francisco, CA – Joe Biden chooses Kamala Harris for his running mate. Yes, you read that correctly, California U.S. Senator, and former Presidential Candidate, Kamala Harris is Joe Biden’s pick for a running mate. Sure, we’ll acknowledge this is historic, but it is also a historic blunder.

First, what does she add to the ticket? She is a woman and a woman of color – so Biden followed through on his promise. However, Harris hails from San Francisco, California, one of the world’s most liberal cities. However, when she was District Attorney there, she wasn’t exactly a favorite of liberals. We’ll get into that later.

California is going to be a solidly blue state; it is not in play, Biden has that state locked up. Nate Silver of FiveThrityEight has the poll averages showing Biden up almost two to one over President Trump. Maybe Biden should have picked someone from a state he needs to win like Arizona or Michigan or Pennsylvania? We’re not complaining – we want to see the Biden campaign, and it’s train wreck not cross the finish line in November.

Second, Kamala Harris’s Presidential campaign was a train wreck. She dropped out early, and this was documented by the New York Times (they updated their article today with the announcement) back on November 29, 2019. She also criticized Biden for his “segregationist views” in the debates. However, as many politicos point out, Harris’s record on race isn’t exactly liberal.

A close examination of Harris’s record shows it’s filled with contradictions. She pushed for programs that helped people find jobs instead of putting them in prison, but also fought to keep people in prison even after they were proved innocent. She refused to pursue the death penalty against a man who killed a police officer, but also defended California’s death penalty system in court. She implemented training programs to address police officers’ racial biases, but also resisted calls to get her office to investigate certain police shootings.

Our liberal friends at Vice went after Harris as well:

“She kind of lucked out that she didn’t get attacked” on her criminal justice record, said David Lublin, a political scientist and fellow of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies. “On a crowded stage after two nights, she is one of the people who will get looked at more.”…And there’s plenty of material that Biden could have chased: As a California prosecutor and later, attorney general, Harris fought to uphold wrongful convictions secured through departmental misconduct, endorsed efforts in California to criminalize truancy, and oversaw a department that argued the state of California couldn’t release some prisoners because it would reduce the number of prison laborers.

So, Harris is weak on the whole Social Justice thing. Just because she has some African-American heritage, she didn’t get a pass on this – that’s odd to us. All liberals get a pass on this. We interpret this to mean that the liberal-left media doesn’t like her. We’ll see if they change their tune now.

Democrats need to get these rioters and looters taking to the street in the name of “social justice” to vote. Biden nor Harris satisfy the progressive liberal-left in this regard. So we are both happy and a little confused by Harris as a pick.

Then there is that problem Harris may have with women. Harris had an affair with Willie Brown, former Mayor of San Francisco and California Speaker of the House. Brown was once one of the most powerful politicians in California. Many women will look at this as a big negative. Did she earn everything she has accomplished, or did she compromise herself in the process? She was 29 during the affair; Willie Brown was ancient.

Another group democrats have to motivate to vote are those young people. Well, Harris has derogatory things to say about them as well. Again from our lefty friends at Vice:

The program, modeled on a similar initiative that Harris launched in San Francisco, would provide social services to young people 18 to 24 who were convicted of nonviolent felonies…Why that population?…People that age are “stupid,” Harris told the audience…“What’s the other thing we know about this population? And it’s a specific phase of life. And remember, age is more than a chronological fact. What else do we know about this population, 18 through 24? They are stupid,” Harris said, to wide laughs from the audience…“That is why we put them in dormitories, and they have a resident assistant. They make really bad decisions. So we focused on that age population. […] When I was at Howard University, and we were in college, we were 18 to 24, and you know what we were called? College kids,” Harris said with a loaded pause.

We’re pretty sure Biden, being the age of the 18-24-year-old crowd’s great grandfather, isn’t going to motivate these people. It appears Harris will have the same problem. Our advice to these young people who don’t like President Trump: “Stay home, don’t vote; these people don’t represent your interests!”.

Our analysis: Harris doesn’t help the Democratic Presidential ticket. In fact, she probably hurts it. However, what is scary is if these Dem clowns pull-off winning in November, she could be President.
