China spying extends from elite liberal universities to electronic devices.
Because of funding secretly coming from China, a Harvard research professor was suspended. Communist Chinese influence should come as no surprise in higher education. Communism is cool on campus, and professors are espousing its false virtues.
The Justice Department released to the public that the Chinese have stolen a bunch of financial data from Equifax, the credit reporting agency. Identity theft is only part of the equation here. With this information, the Chinese can see your spending habits and where you may be vulnerable financially. This could be valuable information for leveraging assets.
However, the most disturbing evidence of Chinese spying is the Chinese Company Huawei. Huawei makes a lot of telecommunication equipment that allows the Chinese government backdoor access to mobile and wired networks. Although their equipment is in the process of being replaced throughout the United States, the damage has already been done.
This is all very unnerving. The extent to which China has been able to spy on Americans has surpassed the Russians at the height of the Cold War.
When you see that “Made in China” label on products, beware – you never know who is listening or watching.
