Columbia, S.C. – Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) and her Democrat colleagues decried President Donald Trump for supporting criminal justice reform.
The 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center awarded President Trump for his role in passing the First Step Act. It grants early release to prisoners in federal prisons for non-violent crimes. The First Step Act passed with bipartisan support, including the support of Harris.
Nevertheless, Harris waffled on attending the event where Trump was awarded for passing the bill she supported. Harris, and other Democrats, just cannot bear to see Trump succeed. Hence, the grandstanding by Harris and her failing presidential campaign.
Trump’s presidency brought about record low unemployment numbers for African Americans. His presidency ushered in criminal justice reform previous administrations failed to achieve. So, why do Harris and other Democrats refuse to acknowledge the very victories their rhetoric supports?
We all know the answer. They oppose Trump because the “orange man is bad.” Democrats, especially presidential candidates, oppose Trump because they must pander to an increasingly radicalized base.
Perhaps a better question is, do the American people see through the smokescreen that is Democratic outrage at President Trump’s success?
We think they do.
