Feds Charge Zoom Executive for Aiding China in Shutting Down Zoom Meetings Critical of Communist Party

Washington D.C. — Federal prosecutors charged Zoom executive Xinjiang Jin for aiding China in shutting down Zoom meetings that were critical of the Chinese Communist Party.

According to The New York Times, Jin is accused of conspiring with the CCP to censor and shut down Zoom memorial meetings for the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Jin allegedly logged into the meetings with aliases and profile pictures related to terrorism and child pornography. He then reported the meetings for violations in an effort to have them terminated.

Zoom shut down at least four of the meetings commemorating the 1989 massacre of student protesters. The People’s Liberation Army murdered hundreds, if not thousands, of protesters under the direction of the CCP. Thousands more were wounded.

Jin acted as a liaison between the CCP and Zoom and remains at large in China. It is unlikely the communist government will extradite him, though Zoom did fire him from his post.

China did not stop there.

One of the Tiananmen memorial organizers reportedly had speakers detained by the Chinese police to block their testimony. One speaker was arrested and detained for days, while police stopped another from accessing electronics during the Zoom meetings.

“Americans should understand that the Chinese government will not hesitate to exploit companies operating in China to further their international agenda, including repression of free speech,” Christopher Wray, director of the F.B.I., said in a statement.

Make no mistake; the Chinese Communist Party holds far more sway on American companies than one might expect.

If a Zoom executive was aiding China, any company choosing to operate in China is at risk of infiltration by the CCP.
