Boston, MA – Does the Kennedy Political Dynasty end today? That is the pressing question. Starting with John Kennedy (JFK) in the 1950s, continuing through his election as President in 1960, it appeared the Kennedy family was building a political dynasty. Two of JFK’s brothers were elected to the U.S. Senate (his older brother Joe died), and numerous family members have held federal political offices for more than half a century. That may be coming to an end today.
For as much as the Kennedys have been a charmed family in American politics, the family has seen its fair share of tragedy. Two family members assassinated, two dying in a plane crashes, a skiing accident, and the list goes on. One constant has been a Kennedy in a federal political office for the last seventy years, that may end today (September 1st), or officially when congress is sworn in in January 2021.
The Kennedys had a rough go of it as late (we shed no tears) from the Caroline Kennedy (JFK’s daughter) debacle of not being chosen to take Hillary Clinton’s New York Senate seat when she ran for President to Chris Kennedy (RFK’s son), who lost a Democratic Primary in Illinois for Governor earlier this year. The Kennedys in politics no longer seem invincible.
Does the Kennedy Political Dynasty end today?
Joe Kennedy III decided to primary incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Ed Markey in Massachusetts this year. Why may you ask? For no other reason, he is a Kennedy and thinks it is his birthright to serve in the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. This is the Kennedy arrogance, and may finally be the downfall of their political dynasty.
You see, no one in Democratic circles wanted Kennedy to run, and sitting U.S. Senator Ed Markey was reasonably popular. The problem in Massachusetts is that a Republican has zero chance of being elected to the U.S. Senate, so it’s up to the Dems to do the fighting amongst themselves (grab the popcorn).
Joe Kennedy III is a sitting Congressman, who is a mere 39 years old. He has plenty of time to bide his time and wait for the seat to open. Ed Markey is 74 years old, so this will probably be his last term (if he lives to be 80). Elizabeth Warren holds the other U.S Senate seat, and she’s 71 years old. There is also a decent chance that senile Joe Biden, if he wins the Presidency (we think he will self-destruct), will remember her name and pick her for something in the administration. Either the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts will be open in the next few years.
Does the Kennedy Political Dynasty end today?
Instead of waiting, Joe Kennedy III did the entitled millennial jerk maneuver and primaried an incumbent – and this made many Democrats mad. Most prominent Dems have endorsed Markey except Nancy Pelosi, who endorsed Kennedy. We believe the Kennedy name doesn’t carry as much clout as it used to.
Now that Kennedy has made his liberal peers mad, he may no longer be in line for a U.S. Senate seat when he loses in the Dem Primary today. We say good riddance to Kennedys; it is a long-time overdue. If dead people in Chicago weren’t allowed to vote in 1960, there wouldn’t have been a dynasty. It’s time to correct history. One Kennedy is a State Senator in Connecticut, but after his cousin loses today – his days may be numbered.

It could, JFK would be labeled a conservative by today’s standards, he was a strong believer in the 1 st and especially the 2nd Amendment, JFK was a life long member of the NRA, he believed that people should not look to government for their existence but to them selves, he probably rolled over in his graves( a figure of speech) when johnson’s great society( nka the new plantation) was passed, with all of the support of the Repubs, the southern democrats opposed it as well as some northern democrats. That democratic party no longer exists, today it is the liberal/socialist party, and their identity is only going to drift father to the left, in liberalism, socialism, party of the mentally deficient lost souls, they are being dishonest maintaining that name, and all donkeys are upset that they still use his likeness. Where as it should be the funny red hat, with the sickle in the back ground. Just an observation having lived for all most 8 decades ( for those mathematically challenged a decade is 10 yrs)
My Parents and Grandparents were “Taft Republicans” who considered FDR a “Communist”.
Aged 84 I have never voted Democratic for any President including JFK.
That said, I now consider JFK the greatest American President of my lifetime!
He inspired America to go to the moon.
He issued silver-backed Treasury currency sidestepping the “Federal” reserve regime.
(Lincoln did similiar. LBJ quickly recalled those bills.)
He strove to keep Israel from acquiring atomic weaponry.
He diffused the Cuban Missile Crisis.
I believe martyred JFK and brother Robert understood the scope of Satanic forces bearing
down now upon our beloved country..
