Democrats Sweep Georgia Runoffs, Have Total Government Control

Atlanta, GA — Votes are still being counted, but it appears that Georgia Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock have both won their races for the United States Senate.

With these victories, Democrats are set to take control of the Senate. The balance between Republicans and Democrats is now 50/50. However, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is the tiebreaker, giving Democrats the edge.

Now that Democrats control all three houses (or will as of January 20), many of Joe Biden’s policy goals are now much more achievable.

Senator Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate Republicans were, until last night, the only real stopgap against radical Democrat policies. Biden now has a lot more power to be able to pass gun control, tax hikes, and more.

Both Ossoff and Warnock outperformed Biden’s November numbers, particularly among Black and Latino voters. Republican turnout also appears to be low compared to November, although it is hard to say why. It could be because Trump was not on the ballot to motivate Republicans – or – conversely, it could be that Trump’s message pointing out voter fraud demotivated them.

Regardless of the reason, Democrats appear to have simply outvoted Republicans in all the key areas.

At one point in the night, when Republicans were in the lead, President Trump called out Georgia for more potential voter fraud, saying that Democrats were waiting to “see how many votes they need.”

The tweet is referencing his own race two months ago where he, and other Republicans, have alleged massive voter fraud in swing states, including Georgia. Trump has accused Democrats of fraudulently bringing in briefcases of illegal votes to swing the tide.

Democrats and Celebrities spent most of last night gloating and cheering, celebrating the newfound hope for their socialist agendas.

On the other side of the aisle, conservative commentator Allie Stuckey called out Democrats who said that they voted for Biden for “moral” reasons. She contrasted that position with Warnock’s spotty past in her fiery tweet:

Stuckey minced no words.

Because of the razor-thin margins between the vote totals, legal challenges to the results are likely, just as was the case with the November Presidential Election. These legal fights, however, are long shots for success and rarely make any real impact.

For the next two years, Biden runs the show. Warnock and Ossoff will be key players for what Biden wants to accomplish.
