Minneapolis, MN – Democrats blame Trump when they should blame Obama. While the Democrat elected officials are trying to lock down society with business closures and mandatory mask-wearing in public, they always seem to make an exception for their ilk – violent liberal protesters.
The result is the destruction of private property, looting, violence, and crime. So who cleans up the mess or who pays for it? Well, of course, these libs petition President Trump’s administration for “Disaster Relief Funds.”
The request for Disaster Relief funds completely ignores who caused the “disaster.” Most of this was self-perpetuated by the same elected officials that created this situation. Minneapolis, Minnesota, is no exception. Jacob Frey is the Mayor of Minneapolis, and of course, is a Democrat, or as in Minnesota, Democrats are called the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
Here’s what happened: Minneapolis applied for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds, and they were denied. So what to the local Dems do, they go after President Trump. Specifically, Minneapolis’s Twin-City Mayor said: “‘This decision is another sad reminder that Americans cannot look to this President’s administration for support, even in our darkest hours,’ St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter said through a spokesman”.
Here’s the problem: it was under the Obama Administration that it was determined that riots did not constitute “Natural Disasters” for FEMA funds. As the article points out:

In 2015, however, FEMA, under the Obama administration, denied aid to the state of Maryland after rioting in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray, a Black man who died in police custody. Maryland appealed the decision and was again rejected.

Baltimore 2015 mirrors the EXACT scenario for Minneapolis 2020. The Trump Administration was right to follow Obama’s lead here – liberal rioters and looters causing destruction is NOT a natural disaster or an Act of God.
Of course, the left is plagued with Trump Derangement Syndrome, and they can’t see past the tip of their noses. Not only did the funds request rejection make sense, but Obama set a precedent – and he was correct. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut sometimes.
