Tallahassee, FL — Governor Ron DeSantis said vaccine passports are “off the table” and called them a “terrible idea” while answering reporter’s questions at a roundtable on Thursday.
DeSantis laid it out plainly. He explained that if people want to go out in public, they can, and if they do not want to, they do not have to. This is the type of individual accountability that is lacking in many Democrat-controlled states.
The governor further stated that he believed that businesses that required proof of vaccination would negatively impact society, “particularly disadvantaged people.”

“The vaccine passport is a terrible idea. We are definitely not going to require anything from the state’s perspective, that is totally off the table. If I have businesses that want to do that in Florida, I think that that’s more than a private decision. I think that impacts our society. I think that impacts people, particularly disadvantaged people in a way that would really be negative for our state. So what form that would take I’d have to discuss it with my folks, I’d have to discuss it potentially with the legislature, but I think it’s a very very bad idea. Look, if you want to go to a movie theater, a concert all this stuff, go. If you don’t, don’t – but to require somebody to show some kind of proof of vaccination I think that is completely unacceptable, and that is not something we are going to support in any way here in Florida.”
Once again, DeSantis is proving he plans to take a common-sense approach to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We knew the democrats were going to push the vaccine mandate. It’s similar to the mark of the beast – you cannot do business unless you accept the mark. This is pushing that thinking – you cannot run your business or be out in public unless you prove you are vaccinated. UNCONSTITUTIONAL demands by the communist democrat party!
Those who support vaccine passports are of the same butt-faced mindset that objects to voter identification. Good job DeSantis. Keep freedom propped up until we get more like you in responsible executive positions.
Truly the best governor in America right now by far. This is still America, and he is one of the very few that understands that. Too many people quite frankly are afraid of freedom. They need someone to tell them what they can and can’t do to feel safe. Those people can move to a democrat state. Democrats have NO trouble telling you what you can and can’t do, and they charge heavily for it in taxes and personal freedoms.
Seems this publication wants to review compliments to Governor DeSantis. In my small part of the world, he’s a highlight in Florida’s recent history and people are nodding their heads when he’s suggested as a presidential candidate. Perhaps ACP needs to broadcast its social media censorship policy.
